Tennis legend and 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams is in Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics. She’s enjoying the festivities with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and their children.
It’s no surprise that the GOAT is taking it all in. Her accomplishments include winning gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She’s cheering on Team USA in what is supposed to be a wholesome moment for the family. She’s also joining other big-name celebrities in taking France by storm.
Unfortunately, the retired 42-year-old Williams and her family were recently involved in some drama.
Williams took to social media to call out a local Paris hotel for rejecting her plans to dine at a rooftop restaurant. Her post was not subtle.
“Yikes @peninsulaparis I’ve been denied access to rooftop to eat in a empty restaurant of nicer places 🫠 but never with my kids. Always a first. 🙄#Olympic2024,” Serena Williams tweeted out.

As Williams noted, the restaurant was empty at the time that she was denied access. Read into that what you want.
The entity in question, The Peninsula Hotel, is considered a five-star hotel. Why the restaurant was empty is anyone’s best guess.
As for Williams’ stay in France, it has not all been bad. She took part in an Olympic torch-lighting handoff with Rafael Nadal, Carl Lewis, and Nadia Comaneci ahead of the Opening Ceremony. Williams and her family have also been seen taking in multiple events in the European capital.
