Mike Tyson, in a Netflix documentary about his upcoming highly-anticipated boxing match with Jake Paul, revealed his thoughts on what might happen if he wins.

The battle between Jake Paul and “Iron” Mike is scheduled for Friday, November 15th, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

“This is really big for me, if I win, I will be immortal,” he said.

There’s really no disputing that. Jake Paul, known as the ‘Problem Child,’ is trying to make a name for himself in the sport of boxing. He’s had some impressive bouts, but not many against legitimate names.

Tyson, even though he is 58 years old, represents just that – a big name to conquer. Perhaps the biggest. But if Tyson wins at his age, after last taking a full-on non-exhibition punch for the first time since 2005, it will be remembered forever. Like a real life Rocky Balboa.

Mike Tyson Says He’s Willing To Die In Fight With Jake Paul

Mike Tyson’s age represents a bit of a problem. As does his health. Originally set for July 20th, the fight was postponed due to Tyson experiencing health issues related to an ulcer flare-up.

The incident made boxing fans take a second look at the boxing legend’s vulnerability in going against someone over three decades younger.

His commentary on what happens if he performs poorly in his match against Paul isn’t going to be a source of relief for concerned fans, either.

“If I do it bad, I don’t want to die in a hospital bed,” he explained. “I want to die in the ring.”

“Iron” Mike, how’s about we don’t die at all here? We don’t need another Duk-koo Kim.

People Are Worried

Mike Tyson has, at times, sounded confident and, at times, sounded concerned about his upcoming fight against Jake Paul. When a reporter asked what he foresaw just 10 days ago, Tyson replied, “A lot of pain.”

“If I don’t have to catch him, you can expect a first-round knockout,” he continued. “I anticipate running after this guy for a round or two.”

He’s also indicated the training is making it hard to walk. In the Netflix documentary, he acknowledges the risk he’s taking for his own legacy.

“I don’t do anything if I don’t risk being embarrassed,” Tyson said in one clip. “Like now I want to fight this young […].”

Hulk Hogan, one of the most legendary characters in professional wrestling history, said Paul appears to be “too strong” and worried that he “might kill” Tyson.

Legendary broadcaster and boxing Hall of Famer Al Bernstein noted Tyson’s “advanced age” in taking on this fight and said, “I just hope everybody gets through it safely.”

Will Mike Tyson become ‘immortal’? Or will they have to carry him out of the ring?
