While most 73-year-olds happily attend cheerleading competitions for their grandchildren on weekends, North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick goes to support his girlfriend.

His 24-year-old girlfriend. Using a trusty calculator, one can easily punch in those two numbers and discover that the coach is 49 years older. But the heart wants what the heart wants. And that apparently involves cheer contests in between Metamucil hits.

Belichick attended a cheerleading competition in Atlanta over the weekend to support his boo, Jordon Hudson. Hudson, serving as cheer captain, competed with her team Code Black in a Cheer Extreme All-Stars event.

Photos captured the couple smiling together, with Belichick dressed casually in a button-down shirt, jeans, and a Navy submarine cap while watching from the bleachers.

Bill Belichick, cheerleading aficionado

As remarkable as this may seem, this event wasn’t the first cheerleading competition that Bill Belichick has attended in recent weeks. He was also spotted attending a cheerleading competition late last month to support Jordon, who is too young for him, and too old to be doing cheerleading competitions. Quite the conundrum.

But that’s what couples in love do. They support each other. Whether on the sidelines of a football game, or creepily watching cheerleaders roughly half a century younger.

Hudson, a former Bridgewater State University cheerleader, performed in November with the coed Code Black squad once again as part of the Cheer Extreme All Stars X Evolution exhibition.

Photos captured Belichick on the sidelines wearing – you’re never going to guess this – a gray sweatshirt!

Honestly, it’s hard to believe this is real life. One, that 24-year-olds still take part in cheerleading competitions (go ahead, send the hate e-mails), and two, that some septuagenarian was just able to watch without anyone wondering what the heck is going on.

Not wallowing in self-pity

Well, it’s good that nobody at North Carolina seems overly concerned about the disaster that was this season.

Bill Belichick’s first season as head coach of the Tar Heels ended with a disappointing 4-8 record, marking the program’s first losing regular season since 2018 and ending a streak of six consecutive bowl appearances.

The team suffered multiple blowout losses, including a 48-14 defeat to TCU in the opener and a 42-19 rout by rival NC State in the finale, with five games lost by double-digit margins.

Offensively, UNC ranked near the bottom of FBS teams, finishing 121st in scoring (19.3 points per game) and 131st in total yards, struggling with consistency and explosiveness throughout the year.

Despite high preseason expectations for the legendary NFL coach’s college debut, the Tar Heels failed to become bowl-eligible, prompting staff changes, including the firing of offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens.

But coach Belichick is out here living his best life. Good for him!
