There is a lot of speculation involving LeBron James and his future with the Los Angeles Lakers.
As Bounding Into Sports reported, the organization is considering drafting his son Bronny James as leverage to entice LeBron to sign a three-year contract extension.
Whether or not LeBron James has played his last game as a Laker, let’s take a journey back through the past six years and highlight his greatest, most memorable moments in Los Angeles.
Following a 40-point performance in Game 5, LeBron James delivered a solid performance with a triple-double – 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists.
He shot an impressive 65.0%, making his effort very efficient. This game secured the Lakers’ 17th championship and LeBron’s 4th title.
James also earned his 4th NBA Finals MVP trophy.
40,000 Career Points

LeBron James became the first NBA player to reach 40,000 career points in a game against the Denver Nuggets on March 2nd, 2024. Not even Michael Jordan or Wilt Chamberlain matched such an incredible feat.
Although the Lakers lost 124-114, James’ historic achievement made it a memorable night, as he finished with a team-high 26 points and 9 assists.

Passing Kobe Bryant

LeBron James put a driving right-handed layup in the basket on January 25th, 2020. His team was down 20 points, but it was a significant bucket nonetheless, moving LeBron past Kobe Bryant for third place on the NBA’s career scoring list.
The next day, Bryant tragically died in a horrific helicopter crash.
One of James’ most memorable moments came a week later when he honored the Laker great, wearing Bryant’s iconic No. 24 jersey, and delivered a tear-jerking, emotional speech at a pregame ceremony.
“So in the words of Kobe Bryant, Mamba out. But in the words of us, not forgotten. Live on brother,” James said.
56 Points

LeBron James scored the third most points of his career on March 5th, 2022 against the Golden State Warriors, but it was one of his greatest efforts in Los Angeles, representing the most points in a game as a Laker.
James poured in 56 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, leading his team to a 124-116 win against the eventual NBA champions that year.

Inaugural In-Season Tournament

This is certain to be a controversial addition to the list as most NBA fans didn’t take the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament seriously.
But Lebron James and the Los Angeles Lakers certainly took it seriously. They beat the Indiana Pacers 123-109 to capture the trophy. James scored 24 points and added 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
“We made history,” James celebrated following the victory in the first-ever event. “Any time you’re on the right side of history, you take it, so …”
James has consistently been on the right side of history during his career. Whether to not he continues that trend as a Laker is yet to be seen.
