The baseball world buzzed with excitement as Pittsburgh Pirates star pitcher Paul Skenes delivered a jaw-dropping MLB start that had fans on the edge of their seats on Wednesday. One fan in particular, his girlfriend Olivia Dunne, was riding a roller coaster of emotions.
In Skenes’ final start of the season, the two-time All-Star pitching phenom delivered, shutting out the Cincinnati Reds through six innings and recording seven strikeouts against a team desperately fighting for its playoff lives.
In the process, he lowered his ERA on the season to 1.97, tops in the league, and became the youngest pitcher in the live ball era with a sub-2.00 ERA since 20-year-old Dwight Gooden’s 1.53 in 1985.
Skenes is 23.
Despite all the accolades for a starter poised to become Hall of Fame material should he be blessed with a lengthy career, it was Olivia Dunne who once again stole the show. As she often does.
Olivia Dunne is a wreck watching her Boyfriend
Stealing the spotlight in the stands was none other than Livvy Dunne, the social media sensation and gymnast, whose cheers for her boyfriend became a must-see spectacle.
She went through a wide, wide range of emotions.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, clinging to a 1-0 lead, Skenes faced Reds outfielder TJ Friedl with a runner on third and two outs. You could feel the nervousness coming from Olivia as the camera panned to her reaction. Dunne was sweatin’.

The handshaking was everything. And Paul delivered. That clip has been viewed millions of times.
“Livvy Dunne is my kind of baseball fan. Agonizing on every pitch. She’s locked in,” one fan wrote. “Imagine what her reactions would be watching Paul Skenes in actual Pirates playoff game.”
Another clip shows Olivia celebrating big time as Skenes ends his night with six shutout innings by striking out Reds’ first baseman Spencer Steer.

Stealing the Show
Olivia Dunne took to social media to brag about Skenes’ fantastic season after the game.
“Best szn I did ever see,” she wrote on X.
It’s certainly a great season. Imagine how much more impactful it would have been on all-time lists if the Pirates were competitive. A 10-10 record with a sub-2.00 ERA is … something.
Still, he’s in a strong position to capture his first Cy Young Award, which will become his second most coveted trophy.
Skenes, earlier this season, pitched against the Detroit Tigers, where Livvy made news when the opposing team’s mascot tried hitting on her.
Last month, Dunne stunned audiences at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show in Miami by performing a flawless split.
