NBA superstar LeBron James and his wife, Savannah, are an increasingly rare example of a happily married couple navigating the perils of sports stardom.
The two have been married for over 12 years, having known each other as teenagers and been high school sweethearts.
James, in an appearance on Savannah’s Everybody’s Crazy podcast, offered up some advice for younger basketball stars on how to remain faithful to their wives – avoid the “cutthroat” women.
The Los Angeles Lakers star said he’s heard horror stories from other players about the “cutthroat, ruthless-ass b–ches” trying to interfere in their lives.
“I sit in the locker room and, s— now, and there’s a lot of women out here that’s now flipped the script,” he explained. “And some homies are out here trying to be good, too, trying to figure it out. And now they are looking in the mirror saying: ‘Damn, what did I do wrong?’”
“Homies, it ain’t you. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.”

LeBron James says he’s committed to his wife
I mean, it’s at least partly the “homies” fault. It takes two to tango, as they say.
LeBron also pointed out his own dedication to his marriage to Savannah during the conversation, stating there is little he wouldn’t do to maintain the couple’s relationship.
“I know I don’t want to be alone, that’s for damn sure. If I got to fight, crawl, scratch, bite, whatever to keep mine, I got to keep it,” he said, wife close by.
“I have to do what I have to do. I don’t want to be alone. I’m an only child, single-parent household. I knew for sure. … when I got with ‘Vannah, I was like: ‘This s— is crazy. This is amazing. I love this s—.”
James offered a middle finger to the notion of being single and added, “Next time I’m alone, I’ll be underneath (the ground).”

Keys to a successful marriage
Look, Savannah and LeBron James have been together in some capacity for around 30 years. So his advice should not be ignored.
The two have three children together – his teammate Bronny, Arizona college hoops star Bryce, and his soon-to-be 11-year-old daughter Zhuri, who plays volleyball.
LeBron went on to explain that having grown up in a financially struggling household with no father helped him appreciate what he has with his wife.
“When I got with ‘Vannah, I was like: ‘This s— is crazy. This is amazing. I love this s—.’ Nah, f that being alone.”
Last week, James was criticized for a stunt in which he pretended to be preparing a retirement announcement that ultimately proved to be little more than an advertisement for a limited-edition bottle of the cognac brand Hennessy.
Hey, you can’t win ’em all. But his marriage advice is still pretty spot on – stick with your wives through thick and thin.
