Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker got himself a tasty offer from Doordash after his very public response to reports that Hooters was struggling financially.
According to media accounts, Hooters might be just months away from filing for bankruptcy as it struggles to emerge from a four-year battle with inflation that decimated the restaurant industry.
“The company, known for its skimpy server uniforms and double-entendre owl mascot, was working to address its debt load with its lawyers as well as turnaround advisers …” Bloomberg reported.
Hooters fan Booker offered words of encouragement on his X social media account. Or words that revealed a very sad individual, distraught over the loss (not that we can blame him).
“Plz don’t go @Hooters,” he pleaded.
Devin Booker Earns Himself Some Free Wings
DoorDash, the food delivery service, learned that Devin Booker was distraught over the potential shutdown of Hooters restaurants and attempted to ease his pain.
“@DevinBook Know how much this hurts,” they responded on X. “To make you feel better, we got you on free wings until they close.”

Know how much this hurts. To make you feel better, we got you on free wings until they close 🦉 https://t.co/krbv0TQBUi
Ah, the old mantra that Hooters is more about their ‘awesome wings’ than, say, the scenery within the restaurant.
Side note – Hooters wings aren’t that great, but everything tastes better when you’ve got other benefits to patronizing the restaurant.
Also, does Devin Booker, who has earned over $215 million in his NBA career, really need to be spotted $20 for wings by DoorDash? How’s about helping out the common folk instead?
Fumbled this opportunity.

Could’ve been like free wings from Hooters for Suns (AZ residents) fans with code BOOK. pic.twitter.com/zWzocDpX6Z

Will He And Durant Take The Offer?
Devin Booker was drafted 13th overall by the Phoenix Suns in 2015. He quickly emerged as a prolific scorer, highlighted by a 70-point game at age 20 and leading the Suns to the NBA Finals in 2021.
Now in his 10th season, the four-time All-Star has become the franchise’s all-time leading scorer. He has also won two Olympic gold medals and is regarded as one of the league’s elite shooting guards.
Decent company, young man.

21-year-old Devin Booker is the first NBA player to reach 70 points since Kobe dropped 81 in 2006. pic.twitter.com/fTRR2jv6i2
Perhaps he and teammate Kevin Durant can pick up some free wings together. Durant posted an AI image of the two wearing Hooters t-shirts and enjoying some wings.
Bro what the hell Kevin Durant doing up posting AI photos of him and Book at Hooters 😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/sChpqlQ0K7
