The fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent earlier this week has ignited nationwide protests and sharp political debate, with Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr publicly denouncing the incident as “murder.”

Good, a Minneapolis-based immigration activist and mother of three associated with the group “ICE Watch,” was killed during a confrontation in south Minneapolis.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Good refused orders to exit her vehicle, which was blocking a roadway while she followed and interfered with ICE agents at multiple locations. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem described Good’s actions as an attempt to “weaponize her vehicle” against officers. Video confirms she struck the agent.

Kerr, however, knowing all of this, still went on a ridiculous tirade.

“It’s shameful, really, that in our country we can have law enforcement officers who commit murder and seemingly get away with it. It’s shameful that the government can come out and lie about what happened when there’s video and witnesses who have all come out and disputed what the government is saying,” Kerr said.

“So, very demoralizing, devastating to lose anyone’s life, especially in that manner. So it’s terrible, terribly sad for her family, and for her, and that city.”

Steve Kerr is Lying

What Kerr just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in his rambling, incoherent response was he even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in that room is now dumber for having listened to it.

What’s remarkable is that he talks about video of the incident, allegedly refuting the agent’s defense for having discharged his weapon. Even as cellphone footage released hours before had shown Good, advised by her wife to do so, clearly accelerated into and struck the agent.

So Kerr is either ignorant or lying. But probably both.

I’m not even going to entertain a debate on the justification here – the ICE agent had every right to use his weapon based on the woman’s actions, which were made clear in every angle and slow-motion video posted to social media.

She jammed the accelerator and struck the officer. He fired back. It’s clear-cut. Do I wish she were still alive? Absolutely. Did her actions lead to what inevitably happened? Yes.

It’s a tragedy, for sure. But it wasn’t murder. And irresponsible rhetoric coming out of Steve Kerr’s mouth is going to get this law enforcement officer harassed or killed.

Defends Agitators

The Minnesota Timberwolves held a moment of silence for Good during their home game shortly after the shooting. Steve Kerr praised the gesture while continuing to disparage law enforcement.

“I’m glad that the Timberwolves recognized her life and the tragic nature of her death,” he said.

The Timberwolves’ moment of silence was interrupted by fans shouting “Go home, ICE!” and “F*** ICE!” followed by cheers for what was just said.

(WARNING: Language)

Kerr is a rabid liberal with a strong fixation on anti-Second Amendment views. Now, you can add embarrassing law enforcement hater to his resume.
