Gracie Hunt, the 25-year-old former Miss Kansas USA and heiress to the Kansas City Chiefs‘ empire, says she supports an alternative to the Super Bowl halftime show.
Hunt’s comments come in response to news that Erika Kirk, the husband of assassinated conservative icon Charlie Kirk, and the group he co-founded, Turning Point USA, will be offering counterprogramming for the halftime festivities.
The NFL caused quite a stir when it announced that Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny, a three-time Grammy winner known for his global popularity and Spanish-language hits, would headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show in February.
Turning Point USA is offering another option to those who don’t care to watch a pro-illegal immigrant rapper. And Hunt seems to be down with that idea.
“I really respect Erika for all that she’s done, especially with creating a halftime show for America. You know, children are young, they’re impressionable. Young women, young men, and everyone, they just need someone to look up to,” Hunt said in an appearance on “The Will Cain Show.”
Gracie Hunt praises Erika Kirk
Gracie continued to praise Erika Kirk’s alternative for the halftime show. And Hunt adds that the Super Bowl entertainment shouldn’t stoop to “cheap appeal.”
Oof. Bad Bunny isn’t going to like hearing that.
“I think she’s done an incredible job leading Turning Point, leading young women, and really leading an alternative for young Americans. Football’s becoming the world sport, but, at its heart, it’s America’s sport built around family,” Hunt insists.

“When my grandfather named the Super Bowl, he intended it to be something children and families of all ages could come together and watch and really believed that the game should come first, that football is the attraction and that it didn’t need to compromise its character or rely on cheap appeal to draw an audience, especially when that approach can alienate so much of the fan base,” she added.
That is a direct rebuke of the league for continuing to choose polarizing, mid-level entertainment acts just to stir up controversy and draw in viewers.

Pick someone more in line with American values
Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has a severe lack of patriotism, in the minds of some. Ocasio criticized law enforcement efforts to clean up the streets of criminals at his concerts.
“There was the issue of — like, (expletive) ICE could be outside my concert,” he said in an interview with Variety. “It was something we were very concerned about.”
Gracie Hunt suggested the Super Bowl halftime show should be more in line with actual American values.
“The NFL honors women, the military, this country, celebrates communities,” she said. “So, I think that whoever they select going forward for the halftime show needs to reflect those values more closely.”
Her comments echo those of NFL great Brett Favre.
“I’d pick someone who — maybe Jason Aldean… someone who loves this country and that everyone could relate to,” Favre said when asked what he would do if he were Commissioner Roger Goodell. “I think Jason Aldean right now is as big a patriot and has a great voice.”
Bunny is a person who embodies neither of those traits.
