Former NFL player Jack Brewer, who was voted team captain on nearly every team he played for during his career, issued a stark warning about New York City’s “lawless” environment following the shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd.
Boyd was shot in the abdomen and critically wounded early Sunday morning in Midtown Manhattan. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where, as of the latest reporting, he is listed in critical condition.
The New York Post has described the situation as dire, asserting that the 29-year-old football player is “clinging to life.”
Brewer, like our own reporting, notes that New York City is essentially a lawless hellscpe and warned that things are about to get even worse.
“Today, New York City is even more lawless,” Brewer told Fox News Digital. “With upcoming leaders who are openly anti-police and anti-law-and-order, the direction of that city is only going to get worse.”

Offers teams advice after Kris Boyd shooting
Brewer said that he is certainly “praying” for Kris Boyd, and offered advice to teams who want to keep players safe in a “lawless” city such as New York.
It’s simple. Stop going out after midnight. Nothing good ever happens for rich athletes after midnight in any city, let alone a crime-ridden wasteland like the Big Apple.
“In fact, (if) I were coaching there right now, I’d write it into every contract: you’re personally liable for anything that happens after midnight, and your deal is terminated if you break curfew,” Brewer boldly declared.
“Teams invest millions into these athletes; they’ve got no business being around in the middle of the night in a lawless city.”
You’d like to think that they could go out and have a good time in any major city in America, but that’s not the case, especially in cities run by wide-eyed politicians who do not operate in the real world. New York City has fallen into that category for years – and it’s about to get worse.
Boyd’s shooting is tragic, and New York is about to get worse
Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist, is as soft on crime as any other New York City Democrat. He ran on a platform to decriminalize all misdemeanor charges and has advocated for releasing prisoners from facilities like Rikers Island.
He is strongly supportive of “defund the police” initiatives and would rather have social workers respond to crimes.
Some politicians thrive on advertising lawlessness in their cities. Mamdani is one of them. And NYC is known for being soft on crime and for wantonly releasing criminals without bail. It’s basically The Purge, 24/7.
As of the time of this report, Boyd is still in critical but stable condition, while the shooter has remained at large, with the NYPD urging witnesses to come forward.
