Is there anything more nerdy than two NFL insiders nearly getting into a pillow fight at a Starbucks? Methinks not.

Yet, multiple witnesses report that Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports and Ian Rapport of NFL Media got into a heated exchange in front of a slew of baristas in Indianapolis.

Most accounts describe Schulz as the aggressor, approaching Rapoport and saying, “We need to talk.”

Pro Football Talk indicates Rapoport wasn’t really interested in chatting. What happens next is a loosely translated recollection of comments. Schulz apparently accused his adversary of making specific negative statements about him.

Rapaport denied doing so.

“If you have anything to say to me, say it to my f—ing face,” Schultz allegedly said. “If this continues, we’re going to have a f—ing problem.”

Rapoport replied by suggesting Schultz step back.

“If this happens again, we’re gonna have f—ing problem,” he defiantly said again. “Now I’ll step back.”

Nerd alert!

Jordan Schultz Was Ready To Pummel Ian Rapoport Over Something

While it remains unclear what Jordan Schultz confronted Ian Rapoport over, it must have been something major for him to feel like he should accost him in the relative safety of a Starbucks.

Schultz is the son of former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz. Not only did he go after a colleague in a room full of latte-sipping dweebs, but his Daddy owns the place!

Some reports suggest the argument surrounded a scoop both NFL insiders had regarding a meeting between Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady and Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. The meeting took place at a ski resort in Montana.

The difference between the reports was that Schulz indicated it was a planned meeting, while Rapoport said it was a random encounter. And for that … Hell in a Cell, baby!

Adam Schefter Chimes In With Hilarious Post

If a fight between two NFL Insiders doesn’t wet your whistle, how about a triple-threat match? We’ll throw in ESPN senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter for good measure.

Schefter posted an image of a Starbucks sign, presumably the one in Indianapolis where the NFL combine is being held, and captioned it: “Head on a swivel.”

Schultz-y ain’t going to like that, Mr. Man.

Rapoport, who was minding his business when Schultz confronted him, then asked the man to step back, decided the final comments amounted to a threat.

He reported the incident to NFL security. If Bounding Into Sports learns of any updates on the matter, we’ll be sure to inform readers.
