Veteran NFL sideline reporter Erin Andrews has announced she has a scary medical problem involving painful skin issues. Andrews described it as a “pre-skin cancer situation.”
Before you snicker, consider almost 9,000 Americans will succumb to melanoma this year. Plus, Erin Andrews is already a cancer survivor, having beaten cervical cancer.
She shared the details about her latest ailment on her “Calm Down” podcast.
“It is so crusty, and it really hurts,” she explained later, adding, “It’s a pre-skin cancer situation. I did a cream for five days on it.”
Andrews went on to tell listeners that she went in for testing and was understandably nervous.
“I went for the old — ‘Oh it’s a great idea until you get in the car’ skin check — the whole shebang,” she said. “I wanted to pass out in the middle of it because I’m so afraid they’re going to find something.”

Erin Andrews Announces New Health Issue
Without too many details, it’s challenging to ascertain precisely what Erin Andrews is dealing with. However, she promised to provide further details in future podcast episodes.
Simply having the words ‘cancer situation’ has to be harrowing for somebody who already battled cervical cancer in September 2016.
Andrews kept that diagnosis private initially, sharing it only with family and close friends. She underwent two surgeries to treat the condition—the first on October 11, 2016, and a second on November 1, 2016, after the initial procedure didn’t fully clear the cancerous cells.
Remarkably, Andrews continued working through her treatment, returning to the NFL sidelines just days after her first surgery to cover a Green Bay Packers game. She was determined not to miss any games during Fox’s Super Bowl season.
Thankfully, she was declared cancer-free by mid-November 2016.

Along with the problematic cancer situation, Andrews was also the victim of a severe privacy invasion when Michael David Barrett, a stalker, secretly filmed her through hotel room peepholes in 2008.
Barrett, who had asked hotel staff for Andrews’ room number, recorded videos of her undressing in Nashville. These videos were later distributed online, causing Andrews significant emotional distress and public humiliation.
In 2016, after a civil trial, Andrews was awarded $55 million in damages, with the blame split between Barrett and the Nashville Marriott where the incident occurred.
She covered the Super Bowl between the Chiefs and the Eagles last month.
