The wreck started when the No. 26 lost control coming off turn three. He would be clobbered in the middle of the track by the No. 48 of Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Burton attempted to avoid the wreck by diving to the inside of the track. However, he quickly ran out of racetrack when Stenhouse Jr. came down the track and smashed Burton’s car against the inside wall.

The violent collision would send Burton’s car airborne before flipping over and then sliding down the front stretch on his roof before finally coming to a stop,

Here’s another look at the wreck from pit road.

After being cleared from the infield care center Burton was asked what it was like being upside down. He responded, “Man, that was not good. Hate it for my guys. Those guys work really hard on our racecars. And we don’t have a lot of cars, Marty. To tear up another car two weeks in a row isn’t good.

He continued, “But just appreciate the safety crew that got to me fast. Appreciate all our partners for sticking with me. It’s been a tough year, but we’ll keep digging and working on some stuff for next year”

“Like I said hate it for our guys, and main thing is we can build another race car, glad I’m okay. And thanks to the safety crew,” he added.

Noah Gragson would go on to win the race at Pocono after a duel with Ty Gibbs in the final laps. The win would give Gragson his third of the year and tie him for the second most wins for the season with his teammate Justin Allgaeier. Gibbs has the most wins with four and sits atop the points standings. Gragson is third in points behind Allgaier and Gibbs.
