As reported by Bounding Into Sports, LeBron James courted his own controversy when a video surfaced on social media showing him sitting during the National Anthem as he walked out courtside to attend his son Bronny James’ debut for USC.

The incident lit up social media amongst critics who thought James’ actions were disgraceful and those who felt he had simply been inattentive and was more focused on getting into the arena without causing chaos.

Colby Covington though, saw things through a very ticked-off lens.

During the media appearance, Covington called James a “spineless coward“, having previously bashed him for not supporting law enforcement and military personnel.

“If you hate America so much and you don’t like this country that gave you a billion dollars, leave it or come deal with me. Go to China, go to the sweatshops that you employ all these laborers,” he raged.

“Use these women and pay them pennies on the dollar to make your millions,” Covington continued. “Fuck you, LeBron James, you’re a coward. You’re a spineless coward and you’re a bitch.”

No word on if LeBron flopped after getting hit with the insults.

Covington Will Have Donald Trump Hand Him The Belt If He Wins

Covington has a history of making provocative statements and engaging in public feuds with other athletes. It’s his support of former President Donald Trump that really lights a fire under his critics.

And the man known as ‘Chaos’ gives absolutely zero Fs.

Covington (17-3) is set to face Leon Edwards (21-3) at UFC 296 for the World Welterweight Championship. And, according to the Daily Mail, has “confirmed that Donald Trump will put the belt on him if he dethrones” Edwards.

Covington has previously trashed LeBron James for his support of Black Lives Matter.

Covington tore into LeBron James in 2020 following his win against fighter Tyron Woodley.

“I want to dedicate this fight to all of the first responders, all of the military out there. This world would not be safe without you guys, thank you for keeping us safe,” he said following his win against fighter Tyron Woodley in 2020.

“Not these woke athletes, I’m sick of these woke athletes and spineless cowards like LeBron James.”

UFC 296 takes place this Saturday, December 16, at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
