After a stellar day on the field against Minnesota, Green Bay Packers star Aaron Jones got punched in the face for trying to be a good samaritan during a postgame scrum

Green Bay’s standout tailback Aaron Jones had a terrific performance during his Packers’ 33-10 punishment of NFC North rival Minnesota on Sunday. The running back racked up 120 yards on the ground to help keep the Pack’s playoff hopes alive, but that wasn’t the end of his highlights for the primetime game.

‘Unnecessary Violence’ By The Vikes

Alongside Jones, emerging quarterback Jordan Love tossed three touchdowns for Green Bay (8-8), who are valiantly battling for their playoff lives. Despite taking a lot of blows this year, they’ve managed to answer the bell. And they have one more round left, when they take on the Chicago Bears (7-9) in an NFC North match-up during the final week of the regular season.

With a win over the mediocre Monsters of the Midway? The Packers will make the playoffs, and there will be Lambeau lunacy.

But they may go there with a few bumps and bruises after getting into a post-game tussle with the Vikes at the conclusion of their contest. As Aaron Jones stepped in to try and play peacemaker, he caught a shot to the face from someone on Minnesota’s sideline.

Post-Game Confusion And Chaos

“We were walking out to shake hands, and I see one of our players having an interaction with a Vikings player, who just finished playing, and they get in each other’s face and going at it, and start shoving,” Aaron Jones told NBC’s Melissa Stark during his postgame interview. “So, I just kind of tried to deescalate, move them to the sideline, and we were good after that.”

For his part, Jones stayed cool and didn’t retaliate for the incident. Thus far, the NFL has not released a statement or handed down any punishment regarding the incident.
