Any athlete who has had to cut and maintain weight for competition understands completely the mental, emotional, and physical toll it can take on a person. Even people who appear as if they wouldn’t have that issue aren’t the exception. Former MMA fighter turned OnlyFans model Paige VanZant has recently come out discussing how dealing with the ins and outs of maintaining an athletic figure have weighed on her over the years.

Paige VanZant – It Ain’t Fun

“Ugh. Debated posting this,” VanZant posted along with a video of her posing in front of a mirror before stepping onto a scale.

“The last few years have been a mental battle to say the least. I lost myself there for a bit. 6 months of extremely hard work, dedication, some incredible friends, @legally__blonder and @maselli_fitness, and the support of my husband my fitness journey has really stuck.”

“Of course, I have my ups and downs,” she continued, “which is a part of life, but I can’t wait for you to hear my full story.”

Plugging the newest episode of her podcast, she teased her audience that she’d “share exactly how much weight I gained, what sparked my decision to change, and how my husband handled it all.”

VanZant revealed during her show that at one point, “My whole body looked like it was swollen… I dropped nine pounds on the fast, prior to that in the last six months I have lost a little over 35 pounds.”

VanZant has been a fan favorite in the world of professional MMA for some time and skyrocketed to a new level of stardom after she switched and began creating adult content on OnlyFans. After leaving the UFC, she switched to bare-knuckle boxing with BKFC for two unsuccessful fights in 2020.

She’s announced this year her intention to compete once again in the BKFC, citing her desire for a comeback and not to end her MMA career on a sour note.

‘F*** Ton of Happiness’

In December of last year, Paige VanZant called out internet trolls accused her of ‘being fat.’

“I have been really good at putting my best self forward. Making sure the world sees the ‘prettiest’ side of me,” she said in a instagram post which has since been deleted.

“Where I fell short is that I never showed the true me. Until now. The truth is, yes, I have gained a lot of weight…. probably 20+ pounds but I also gained strength, power, muscle and a f*ck ton of happiness.”

“I see every single comment on my YouTube channel about how I look pregnant, obese, fat as f*ck, and won’t be able to fit through a door soon. But one thing I have always remembered. Happy people ain’t haters and haters ain’t happy. So all you haters out there keep on commenting, you’re only growing my platform.”
