Former NCAA star swimmer and advocate for women’s sports, Riley Gaines, was temporarily denied entry to the NCAA Convention in Phoenix, Arizona. She claims it was done as a means to allow President Charlie Baker to continue avoiding her.

Riley Gaines Calls Out Charlie Baker For Ducking Her

Gaines, the 2022 SEC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and All-SEC Team First Team selection in 2021 and 2022, accused NCAA officials of temporarily blocking her from entering the convention.

According to the fierce advocate for female athletes, she was stopped by two officials who told her she wasn’t “allowed” in despite having proper credentials.

“They said, ‘No, we know you have your credentials. But that’s not what we’re talking about. You’re just not allowed in there,'” Gaines recalled.

“It was clear to me — and it was clear to all my friends who were there with me — that they had simply pulled me aside when Charlie Baker was walking by,” she explained. “So I didn’t have the opportunity to talk to him until he was safely secured in a completely separate room. It was evident.”

Why Would Baker Avoid Her?

Riley represents what radical transgender advocates hate in every way. She’s a woman. She’s a female athlete. And she opposes biological men competing unfairly against girls.

As such, Baker and NCAA officials have kept her at arm’s length, refusing to meet with female athletes adversely affected by policies allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports.

“The NCAA hasn’t changed their policies and, as mentioned, women continue to be discriminated against on the basis of our sex,” she told Fox News.

Gaines accused NCAA officials of acting “cowardly” and said they couldn’t “even look me in the eyes” when delivering a petition with over 70,000 signatures demanding the association “keep women’s sports female.”

Riley Gaines was recently named Problematic Woman of the Year, something she contends will be worn as a badge of honor.

She continued being ‘problematic’ for the NCAA, joining a rally outside the convention to share her views on transgender athletes in women’s sports.

According to Outkick, Baker was supposed to be on hand to receive the binder full of petition signatures himself.

“He didn’t think it was a good look for him to be there,” Gaines contends.

She was eventually allowed entry to the convention to attend the ceremony to support 2023 NCAA Woman of the Year Logan Eggleston and the other female nominees.
