The radically liberal climate change activist and singer Taylor Swift is being slammed for sending her private jet from Sydney, Australia to Hawaii and back to pick up her boyfriend, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Swift Sends Private Jet To Pick Up Kelce
Newsweek reported that on Wednesday, Kelce boarded a Bombardier Global 6000 plane from Hawaii to Sydney, where Swift is performing sold-out shows from February 23 to 26. Though a flight from Sydney to Honolulu would normally take approximately 10 hours, this private jet travels far faster than a commercial plane.
The private jet carrying Kelce was most-tracked flight worldwide during its descent, with more than 9,000 people watching it from all over the world.
“Climate change activist Taylor Swift sends her private jet from Sydney to Hawaii to pick up her boyfriend Travis Kelce and bring him to Australia,” the online personality Oli London wrote on social media. “The round trip will emit 3 metric tons of CO2. The CO2 emissions equate to melting 95.4 square feet of Arctic sea ice.”
Social Media Users Fire Back
Social media users, however, were not having any of it, and they quickly called out Swift for her hypocrisy.
“Was there not a regular normal plane with a first class cabin available???” one person, with another adding, “These climate hypocrites are all the same.”
“Rules for thee, not for me. Virtue signaling hypocrisy,” a third user wrote. A fourth person commented, “It’s disheartening to see such a drastic impact on our environment from unnecessary travel emissions.”
“And I’m over here recycling. Wtf,” stated a fifth user.

Swift’s Legal Battle
This comes two months after Swift’s legal team sent a cease-and-desist letter to the University of Central Florida student Jack Sweeney, who has been tracking and sharing the flight information of her private jet. Her attorneys said that they would “have no choice but to pursue any and all legal remedies” if Sweeney did not stop what they call “stalking and harassing behavior,” according to The Hill.
Swift alleged that what Sweeney has been doing has caused her family “direct and irreparable harm” and “emotional and physical distress.”
Sweeney fired back on Monday in a letter written by his attorney, who argued that the @taylorswiftjets account was “engaged in protected speech” that does not violate Swift’s rights.
“Your letter’s tone of alarm is unfounded,” Sweeney’s lawyer wrote. “Our clients’ website only provides the location of private jets using publicly available information. That information poses no threat to Ms. Swift’s safety.”
The letter went on to point out that Sweeney has not made any credible threats against the singer, and expressed “doubts” that Swift will pursue legal action, but vowed to fight back if she does.
Swift’s Liberal Comments On Climate And Trump
Swift has long been a radically liberal climate change activist. Back in 2020, Swift told Variety that climate change was one of the “horrific situations that we find ourselves facing right now,” particularly for young people.
That same year, Swift attacked the then-President Donald Trump, accusing him of “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism” in response to comments he made condemning the violence that spread throughout the country in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence?” she wrote on social media at the time, according to Daily Mail. “When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November. @realdonaldtrump.”
In her Netflix documentary “Miss Americana,” Swift talked about how much she regrets not openly opposing Trump during the 2016 presidential election.
“I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now,” Trump said in response.
Swift’s climate jet usage shows that just like the vast majority of radically liberal celebrities, she’s a complete hypocrite who thinks that she is above her own rules. She expects the rest of us to do our part to do our part to fight climate change while she jets around the world with her boyfriend, causing far more damage to the environment than the average person ever could.
“Rules for thee but not for me” indeed.
