Supermodel Gisele Bündchen and NFL star Tom Brady shocked the world when they announced back in 2022 that they would be divorcing after thirteen years of marriage and two children together. In a new interview, Bündchen could not help but break down in tears when asked about this divorce.

Bündchen Breaks Down

In a teaser for a new interview with Bündchen that is set to air on ABC, host Robin Roberts asked her about her previous comments that her divorce from Brady was the “death of a dream.”

“How are you?” Roberts asked.

This simple question was enough to trigger Bündchen, 43.

“Well, when you say,” Bündchen started to say before pausing as she got tears in her eyes. She proceeded to turn away from the camera as the tears continued to flow.

“Sorry, guys. I don’t know. Can I have a little moment?” she said as her voice shook with emotion.

Bündchen Talks Co-Parenting With Brady

The trailer then cut to Roberts asking Bündchen about co-parenting her and Brady’s two children –– son Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11.

“I think there’s easier days than others, and I can only control what I do,” she admitted.

“[Would you] be able to open up your heart again to someone?” Roberts later asked, to which Bündchen coyly responded, “Ummm.”

“Where my heart is now is where I am right now,” she added. “I’m living my truth, and I’m not apologizing for it.”

In this same interview, Bündchen revealed that “everything” she’s experienced with love in the past has made her realize “what I want and what I don’t want.”

She did not specifically reference her current romance with her jiu-jitsu instructor boyfriend Joaquim Valente, with who she is reportedly “deeply in love” in love after “discreetly” dating him since last summer, according to Page Six.

“They were keeping things quiet — but recently there’s been more PDA; they’re happy to be affectionate with each other in public,” a source said last month.

Bündchen’s Previous Comments About Divorce

In September of last year, Bündchen said that she was “just surviving” before her divorce from Brady.

“I’m in a different place in my life. I’m able to choose more of what I want,” she said of being single, according to In Style Magazine. ”I think before I was more surviving, and now I’m living, which is different.”

When asked if she would change the fact that she and Brady divorced, Bündchen replied: “I think it’s not what I dreamed of and what I hoped for. My parents have been married for 50 years, and I really wanted that to happen.”

“But I think you have to accept you know sometimes that the way you are in your 20s, it’s sometimes you grow together, sometimes you grow apart,” she added. “He’s the father of my kids. So I always wish him the best, and I’m so grateful that he gave me wonderful children.”

Divorce is never easy, particularly when there are children involved. For the sake of their two kids, we can only hope that Bündchen and Brady can put their split behind them so that they can co-parent together effectively in the years to come.
