Former NFL star Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bündchen shocked the world back in October of 2022 when they divorced after thirteen years of marriage and two children together. Now, sources are coming forward to claim that Tom was desperate not to end his marriage to Gisele for one reason.
Brady Didn’t Want To Divorce Gisele
Tom, 46, reportedly did not want to divorce Gisele, 43, because he did not want to repeat the “stressful” experience of raising children with a former partner.
“Tom would actually agree that co-parenting hasn’t been easy,” an insider told Daily Mail. “There has been a lot of love lost in their relationship and navigating through that and their careers and finding new love has not been easy. It is safe to say that Tom and Gisele never expected to break up.”
Tom and Gisele are parents to Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11. Tom also shares Jack, 16, with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, an actress who stars in “Blue Bloods.”

‘It Is Just A Sad Situation’
“He never wanted to divorce, especially since his relationship with Bridget ended, and dealing with that to get to a place of good co-parenting took some time,” the source continued. “To do it all over again has been stressful.”
“It is just a sad situation because family is so important to both of them and to not be a complete family sets many struggles moving forward,” the insider added. “Like everything, they will get there, because they aren’t getting back together, but Gisele and Tom have gone through a bunch of sadness to be where they are now, which is leaps and bounds better than it has been.”
“As much as it is not ideal, they are both determined to get there somehow,” the source stated. ‘They both agree that the benefit of their kids is what matters, and [Gisele] wasn’t lying when she said they have good days and bad days. It is a process, especially in the public eye.”
Tom and Gisele reportedly feel that they are reaching an “interesting” time as co-parents as their children become young adults.
“As much as it is not ideal, they are both determined to get there somehow,” the source said. “They both agree that the benefit of their kids is what matters, and [Gisele] wasn’t lying when she said they have good days and bad days. It is a process, especially in the public eye.”
Gisele Discusses Divorce
Last month, Gisele told Harper’s Bazaar that she and Tom parent in “two different ways,” which can lead to tensions at times.
“Sometimes, I get pushback, especially because now they’re in two different homes and there are two different ways,” she admitted. “But I feel like I owe it to my kids, because of what my mom taught me.”
Earlier this week, Gisele broke down in tears while discussing her divorce with the television personality Robin Roberts.
“How are you?” Roberts asked.
This simple question was enough to trigger Bündchen.
“Well, when you say,” Bündchen started to say before pausing as she got tears in her eyes. She proceeded to turn away from the camera as the tears continued to flow.
“Sorry, guys. I don’t know. Can I have a little moment?” she said as her voice shook with emotion.
This has clearly been a very messy split from the beginning. For the sake of their children, we can only hope that Tom and Gisele can overcome this so that they can co-parent together effectively.
