Former NCAA star swimmer and advocate for women’s sports, Riley Gaines, hammered one-time ESPN sportscaster Keith Olbermann with another brutal volley in their ongoing feud.
Gaines, our readers may know, is an accomplished former NCAA swimmer. Her bio at Kentucky recounts a slew of academic and athletic accomplishments including:
- 2021, 2022 All-SEC First Team
- 2022 SEC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year
- One of the most decorated swimmers in program history
Olbermann, by contrast, mostly likes to rant, and has never played a sport in his life.
Still, that hasn’t stopped the man from opening his gaping mouth time and again. Olbermann has said Gaines “sucked at swimming” and accused her of being a “transphobe” who “has no reputation to ruin.”

Keith Olbermann Versus Riley Gaines – It’s Not A Fair Fight
For his troubles, the former ESPN broadcaster was hit with a Community Notes fact-check that slapped him back to reality. But that was nothing compared to what Keith Olbermann got hit with from Riley Gaines herself.
In an appearance with podcaster Joe Rogan, Gaines simply leveled the hapless Olbermann.
“I very proudly finished my career as a 12-time All-American, a five-time SEC champion, the SEC record holder, SEC scholar-athlete of the year, SEC community services leader of the year, I can keep going on, and it’s like, this senile old man wants to attack me?” Gaines said.
“He still lives with his mom in her basement,” she added. “I had to ask my dad, ‘Who is this guy?’ I don’t even know who he is.”
Nobody does anymore. And that’s why it’s a joy to watch this takedown.
Rogan Tag Teams Olbermann
In a previous podcast, Rogan himself ripped Keith Olbermann for his belittling comments about Riley Gaines. And he gave little Keith a nickname in the process. (Warning: graphic language.)
“Keith Olbermann said some ridiculous shit about she doesn’t have any athletic accomplishments. So she makes a video in response showing all the awards she’s won,” Rogan explained. “She’s like a serious fucking accomplished athlete. She’s an amazing athlete.”
“But for this insane fuck to say this … ” Rogan continued, trailing off as he marveled at Olbermann.
