Cody Rhodes became the WWE Universal Champion after defeating the long-reigning Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 last month.
It is now being reported that the champ will be starring in a reboot of the 1980s comedy classic, The Naked Gun.
His co-stars? None other than Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson.
Cody Rhodes’ Big Screen Debut
According to the Daily Mail, Rhodes‘ appearance will be a cameo. They report, “with insiders hinting at a potential hypnotism scene that pays homage to the original 1988 comedy.”
”Cody may be having a huge feud with The Rock [Dwayne Johnson] in the WWE ring right now but it looks like the battle will extend to Hollywood as he is going to star in the new Naked Gun film,” the story notes.
This appearance by Rhodes would be a continuation of the popular The Naked Gun film franchise that originally featured Leslie Nielsen as its main star. A blend of comedy and action, now it is being reported that Liam Neeson will lead the cast.
While Rhodes might have a brief role, his part could be integral to the overall plot of the film.

Rhodes has done television acting before, appearing in shows such as Arrow and Warehouse 13. This would mark his first foray into movies. One source says that Rhodes is excited about the opportunity and intends to go all in on the humor.
It has even been said he might be playing himself in the film.
”And to make things a little easier for himself, he might actually end up playing himself in the film,” a source said. ”But this will be a huge movie and Cody is super excited to film his part and make it something that’s both fun for him and funny for everyone that sees it.”
No release date has been announced at this time.
