Jonas Harmer, the husband of former USA women’s gymnastics team member MyKayla Skinner, is speaking out after a feud between his wife and gold medalist Simone Biles has escalated into ugly territory.
Skinner claims fans of Biles have resorted to “cyberbullying” her and issuing death threats against members of her family.
The 2020 silver medalist posted a message on Tuesday pleading with Biles to call off her fans. Harmer responded to the video praising his wife for how she’s handled the entire ordeal.
“Proud of you for apologizing when you did, staying quiet when you did, and now standing up for yourself,” he wrote on Instagram. “You’re the strongest person I know!”

MyKayla Skinner Getting Harassed By Simone Biles Fans?
While she was exceptionally active on social media following the women’s gold medal team performance in the Paris Olympics, Simone Biles has been quiet since Skinner begged her to tamp down her fans’ reaction to the ongoing feud.
MyKayla Skinner initially drew heat by criticizing the women’s gymnastics squad in the run-up to the Paris games saying, “The girls just don’t have the work ethic.”
She did not include Biles in that group.
Skinner apologized, but Biles took an effective jab on social media, captioning an image of the US women’s team celebrating victory at the Summer Olympics: “Lack of talent, lazy, Olympic champions.”
Other female gymnasts piled on with a plethora of jabs directed at Skinner.
Suni Lee added, “Put a finger down if Simone Biles just ended you 🖐🏼.”
Where Is Biles?
The problem now, however, is that MyKayla Skinner has claimed some of Simone Biles’ fans are taking the ‘ending you’ comment a little too far.
“Simone’s latest post and others that followed it fueled another wave of hateful comments, DMs, articles and emails,” she said. “I am asking you directly and publicly to please put a stop to this. Please ask your followers to stop.”
Even if there is some truth to Skinner possibly playing up the victim card, it would take all of two minutes for her to make a post calling on her fans to turn down the temperature.
“Watching people cheer on the bullying which has led to threats of physical harm to me my husband and our daughter is disgusting,” Skinner stated.
Her comments weren’t well articulated, for sure, but Team USA got the ultimate redemption by winning the gold medal. The fact that this has spun out of control is absurd.
