Despite telling the media that they need to stop asking athletes ‘what’s next’, Simone Biles is offering a glimpse of what her future might hold.

And basically, it’s still as up in the air as one of her high-flying twists.

The 27-year-old (she’ll be 31 at the next Olympic Games) did, however, leave the door open to returning to the Los Angeles Summer Games in four years despite being “old.”

“Never say never,” she told USA Today. “The next Olympics is at home, so you just never know.”

Laughing, she added, “But I am getting really old.” Which is true, but only in the sense of being a professional gymnast.

Simone Biles At Another Olympics?

Simone Biles is already the most decorated gymnast in American history.

With seven gold medals, Simone Biles has earned more than any other American gymnast, male or female, in Olympic history. She has eleven overall, including two silver, and two bronze.

The possibility of seeing her compete for even more hardware in Los Angeles in the 2028 Olympic Games has to have fans practically foaming at the mouth.

Biles’ quest for a fourth gold in Paris was derailed when she slipped off the balance beam Monday and failed to make the podium. A minor blip for the celebrated Olympic legend.

Perhaps she’ll embark on a mini-redemption tour when she and Jordan Chiles compete for superiority in the floor exercise later.

Stop Asking About The Future

Biles withdrew from several events in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games due to mental health issues and a case of the “twisties” – Essentially the ‘yips’ for gymnasts.

Biles removing herself from the team competition in Tokyo played a large role in the US team only earning a silver medal.

But that is a thing of the past for sure, as she has been rather dominant in the 2024 Games.

Simone Biles’ comments about her future come as she actively complained to the media about reporters asking questions about the future and not allowing Olympic athletes to enjoy their moment in the sun.

“You guys really gotta stop asking athletes what’s next after they win a medal at the Olympics. Let us soak up the moment we’ve worked our whole lives for,” she wrote on X.

They won’t stop, Simone. If Biles wins gold in Los Angeles, reporters are going to be asking if she’ll be back in Brisbane, Australia in 2032.
