Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill tore into track star Noah Lyles and claimed he could beat him in a race.
Lyles won the gold medal in the men’s 100-meter dash at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Hill celebrated that victory.
The 200-meter event didn’t go quite as well for the sprinter. A case of COVID apparently slowed him down a bit, but he still managed to win a bronze.
In an interview Tyreek Hill had with Kay Adams of Up & Adams, Lyles’ controversial past comments about NBA players came up. And the 5-time All-Pro went from celebrating Lyles to denigrating him.
“Noah Lyles can’t say nothing after what happened to him,” said Hill. “Then he wants to come out and pretend like he’s sick. I feel like that’s like horseradish. For him to do that and say that we’re not world champions of our sport — come on, bruh, just speak on what you know about and that’s track.”

Tyreek Hill Seemingly Challenges Noah Lyles To A Race
For those who weren’t sure, the Urban Dictionary notes that ‘horseradish’ is an expression for bull excrement, used when the latter term is inappropriate.
You learn something new every day.
Anyway, Tyreek Hill is responding to comments Noah Lyles made about NBA champions and how they don’t have the same right to be called ‘world champs’ as Olympic athletes.
“What hurts me the most is I have to watch the NBA Finals and they have ‘World Champion’ on their heads,” Lyles said. “World Champion of what? The United States? Don’t get me wrong. I love the U.S. at times. But that ain’t the world.”
Not content to go after Lyles for that comment, Hill took a personal shot by saying he could best the young man in his own sport.
“I would beat Noah Lyles,” Hill said. “I wouldn’t beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles.”
Who Would Win?
There’s no doubt the guy nicknamed the “Cheetah” would give Lyles a run for his money. But could he win the race? Yeah, not likely.
Tyreek Hill is an exceptionally fast football player, and he has also competed in track events. He has personal bests of 10.19 seconds in the 100m and 20.14 seconds in the 200m, which he achieved in high school.
The 10.19 wouldn’t have gotten Hill past the first round in the Olympic heats. 20.14 in the 200-meter finals would have earned Hill seventh place, well behind the COVID-infected Lyles.
Could the two compete against each other? Not likely, but Hill poured fuel on the fire by suggesting he was ‘calling his shot’ for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Who knows? Maybe with a bit of training, Tyreek could beat Lyles.
