Snoop Dogg might just be Team USA‘s #1 fan. Although better known for his West Coast rap style, he has become a household name over the last three decades. As an entrepreneur, actor, and media personality, Snoop has built a diverse entertainment empire.
From carrying the torch to swimming with Michael Phelps, we are counting down Snoop Dogg’s best moments from the Olympics this year!
Carrying the Torch

First up on our list of Snoop Dogg’s best moments from the Olympics was carrying the Olympic torch. He danced, cheered, and waved to the audience.
He was one of the final torch bearers of the Olympic flame, which was lit in April in Greece, and has slowly made its way toward Paris since. Snoop Dogg’s leg was in Saint-Denis, a Parisian suburb.
The International Olympic Committee said the tradition symbolized “peace and friendship among nations since antiquity.” Who could be better to pass the torch than one of America’s most loved celebrities?
Trading Pins with Coco Gauff

Next, Snoop Dogg gave Coco Gauff a pin of himself at this year’s Olympics. He is seen blowing five circles of smoke into the air in the same colors as the Olympic rings with a joint in his left hand. Additionally, he is depicted in front of the Eiffel Tower, the focal symbol of the Olympic Opening Ceremony.
“Got something for you, beautiful. This is for you. Great game today. Go, USA,” Snoop Dogg said in the Instagram clip. Gauff replied, ”Hey, Mr. Snoop. Thanks for this pin. This is the best pin I’ve ever gotten.”
Snoop, known for his cannabis use and advocacy, brought this aspect of his public persona into the Olympic sphere. He incorporated cannabis imagery into an Olympic-themed pin, contrasting his personal brand and the conservative world of international sports.
Women’s Volleyball Cheerleader

In a brief interview with NBC Sports prior to the games, Snoop Dogg said that he looked forward to watching U.S. beach volleyball athletes Sara Hughes and Kelly Cheng during the 2024 Paris Olympics. On TikTok, he also posted a clip of him getting lessons from the Olympic players.
When it came down to the game, Switzerland’s Nina Brunner and Tanja Hüberli beat the Americans 21-18, 21-19 to advance to the semifinals. Regardless, Snoop’s encouragement to the Team USA athletes was one of his best moments from the Olympics.
Road Tripping with the U.S Men’s Basketball Team

Another one of the best moments from the Olympics was when Snoop Dogg joined the US men’s Olympic basketball team. He rode on their bus and accompanied them on a high-speed train to practice. He even got a basketball signed and played cards with the players.
His ability to connect with the athletes and bring out their more casual sides gave fans a rare glimpse of these basketball stars off the court. Later, he performed at the USA Basketball 50th anniversary party co-hosted by Comcast NBCUniversal.
Swimming with Michael Phelps

As part of the Olympic coverage, NBC Sports posted a segment featuring Snoop Dogg and swimming legend Michael Phelps. The two celebrities met poolside for a swimming lesson.
Snoop referred to Phelps as “Mr. 23 time OG the goat MP,” acknowledging Phelps’ 23 Olympic gold medals. The rapper, clearly out of his element in the water, tried his best to keep up with the swimming champion. Again, Snoop’s iconic sense of humor and comedy made the segment entertaining, as he encouraged more viewers to watch the Olympics.
Showing off his Custom Team USA Shirts

Snoop Dogg appeared at the Beach Volleyball arena wearing a jacket and shirt featuring Hughes and Cheng’s faces on it.
He exclaimed, “I got to have them both, baby. You know what I’m saying? I’m the coach,” Snoop said. “I had a chance to meet these ladies. I fell in love with them.”
Throughout the games, he also wore shirts featuring the faces of other Team USA members, including gymnast Simone Biles and tennis star Coco Gauff. Okayyy, Snoop! The ultimate cheerleader!
Dancing with Simone Biles & Jordan Chiles

During the Olympic gymnastics qualifying round, medalists Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles looked and pointed into the stands.
Then, Chiles broke out into a dance. The cameras followed the gymnasts’ eyes to show who had caught their attention: it was none other than Snoop Dogg. Of course, also decked out in an American flag-themed tracksuit.
This iconic moment has been blowing up on TikTok and other social media platforms since it happened, showing how Snoop Dogg has truly become America’s sweetheart.
Conquered his Fear of Horses with Martha Stewart

Next, despite his fear of horses, Snoop Dogg found himself with his friend and culinary icon Martha Stewart at the grounds of Versailles.
He enthusiastically commented on a horse named Gin & Juice. He also improvised rhymes about his four-legged horse friend rapping, “From the front to the back / There’s so much drama and party; it’s hard being an H-O-R-S-E.”
Closing Ceremony Performance with Dr. Dre

Finishing off our list of Snoop Dogg’s best moments from the Olympics, we had to include his closing ceremony performance with Dr. Dre.
As Paris wrapped up two and a half weeks of Olympic athletics, this performance passed the Summer Games hosting baton to the next city in line: Los Angeles in 2028. After he performed “Drop It Like Its Hot,” he brought out Dr. Dre, and the two rapped their classic “The Next Episode”.
In the end, Snoop Dogg was the star of the Olympics this year, despite not being an athlete himself. Snoop Dogg had some of the best moments at the Olympics this year. He may even be Team USA‘s #1 fan 😉
