Boxing: Tyson vs Paul Weigh-In

Perhaps Jake Paul shouldn’t have antagonized Mike Tyson by claiming he was being boring during their pre-match press conference earlier this week.

Because, at the weigh-in, the former World Champ was anything but.

The 58-year-old, wearing very little as the two staged a staredown at the weigh-in, delivered a slap heard around the world.

The shot turned Paul’s head completely around and led to some epic closeup shots of his puckered face as meathook met grill.

“Talk is over,” Tyson later told reporters.

Tyson Decks Paul, Paul Says He Must Die

Hey, we tried warning Jake Paul that a quiet Tyson was a dangerous Tyson.

If I were Jake Paul, I’d be more worried that Mike Tyson is seemingly focused and not really interested in hyping a fight some people aren’t sure will be a serious bout.

Of course, there will be the naysayers who believe Tyson’s slap was staged to generate interest. Paul, a social media star prior to taking up boxing, certainly knows the value of promotion.

But who cares? Slap-o-rama was pretty awesome and I’m even more hyped for Friday’s match.

To his credit, Paul seemed unfazed by the slap and even taunted Mike on the stage. The taunting continued afterward when he told reporters the consequences of Tyson’s actions.

“I didn’t even feel it,” Paul burned. “He’s angry, he’s an angry little elf.”

“Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap buddy, but tomorrow you’re gonna get knocked the […] out. I’m […] him up, I’m […] him up. He hits like a […]. It’s personal now. It’s personal now. He must die.”

Why All The Talk Of Dying?

Tensions are high enough as it is, what with a 58-year-old stepping into the ring with a 27-year-old. Especially after the former had a health scare that postponed the original date for the fight.

So the “he must die” talk is a little much. What’s next Jake, you’re going to “eat his children“?

The death talk has been prevalent leading up to this match. Tyson bragged that he’s a “natural born killer” and said if things go south, he wants to “die in the ring.”

Hulk Hogan, one of the most legendary characters in professional wrestling history, said Paul appears to be “too strong” and worried that he “might kill” Tyson.

Let’s hope it’s a decent, legit fight with both competitors able to walk out of the ring. Slaps turn to punches later tonight from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas with the full card starting at 8 p.m. ET.
