The annual Army–Navy football game, often dubbed “America’s Game,” lived up to its reputation for patriotic pageantry this past weekend. A stirring rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” before kickoff went viral across social media for all the right reasons.
And the Commander-in-Chief was on hand to witness it all.
Fans and viewers nationwide hailed the pre-game national anthem as one of the most beautiful and moving performances of the college football season.
President Trump was on the field, saluting the incredible performance. A performance that took place with the backdrop of two U.S. Army soldiers and a civilian U.S. interpreter having been killed in an attack in Syria.
Chills were felt not just in the stadium but across social media and beyond.

Patriotism in fashion again
The game itself featured intense competition between the Army Black Knights and Navy Midshipmen, with Navy (10-2) ultimately edging out a thrilling victory, 17-16. Navy’s dual-threat quarterback Blake Horvath continued his dominance from last year’s matchup, contributing significantly to the Midshipmen’s success.
Army (6-6) entered the game seeking revenge after a lopsided defeat in 2024, but Navy held on for the win in front of a packed stadium filled with cadets, midshipmen, and distinguished guests.
The 126th edition of the rivalry was broadcast on CBS, drawing millions of viewers who tuned in not just for the football but for the unparalleled display of military tradition, including cadet marches, flyovers, and the emotional singing of alma maters following the game.
The 126th annual Army-Navy Game was an epic event and a great battle! In the end, Navy defeated Army 17-16.

Patriotic versions of the national anthem have been making a comeback of late. Not just at the Army-Navy game. Many saw the performance by seventeen-time Grammy winner CeCe Winans before the Detroit Lions–Green Bay Packers game at Ford Field on Thanksgiving Day and thought THAT was the most stirring version they’d ever seen.
It’s right up there, for sure.
Tinashe, a 32-year-old R&B singer and songwriter from Pasadena, California, stunned baseball fans with a powerful rendition of her own national anthem before Game 4 of the World Series.
Major League Baseball (MLB) posted video of Tinashe’s performance on Instagram, calling it “incredible.”
During a Monday Night Football game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Commanders earlier this season, retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Robert Carter’s stirring rendition of the national anthem moved star defensive tackle Chris Jones to tears.
Navy veteran Generald Wilson delivered a beautiful performance of the national anthem at the NBA season opener between the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.
It’s a tough choice, but which one was your favorite?
