Terrell Owens, who turned 50 years old in December, smashed a homerun that nearly cleared the MLB fence during a celebrity softball game on Saturday.

Owens’ performance came during the 2024 MLB Celebrity Softball Game at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

The pitcher he hit the bomb off of was none other than softball legend Jennie Finch, who can throw some heat.

The pro football Hall of Famer stepped into the batter’s box in the top of the final inning with his NL squad well ahead, 10-2.

He sent a pitch from Finch into the night sky. A no-doubter that soared well past the makeshift fence used for home runs on the celebrity field.

Granted, Finch wasn’t exactly pitching the way she is accustomed to in actual competition. She clearly just lobbed the ball in there for Terrell Owens to mash.

Still, it’s pretty impressive to see him rake one – a softball no less – that almost cleared the Major League wall in Arlington.

Runs were coming fast and furious in this game against Finch. The NL club would eventually defeat the AL celebrities by a score of 12-10.

Besides the TO blast, country singer Kane Brown also took Finch over the wall.

Jennie Must Have Been Champing At The Bit

With Kane Brown and Terrell Owens celebrating their home runs, Jennie Finch must have been absolutely dying to show those guys what she can really do.

She’s no slouch. And she certainly wouldn’t be lobbing these pitches in if not for it being a celebrity game and the batters actually not being baseball or softball players.

It’d probably look more like the time she mowed down Albert Pujols.

Finch led the United States women’s national softball team to gold and silver medals in the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics respectively. As a pitcher with the Arizona Wildcats, she at one point ripped off 60 consecutive wins.

Owens had a 15-year career marked by his exceptional performance as one of the greatest receivers in NFL history. He ranks third in career receiving yards and touchdowns.

He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
