Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant torched podcaster Skip Bayless with a brutal line after the former ESPN personality accused him of acting like he’s “semi-retired” after an overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets.
“The more I watch him at age 36, the more he looks mentally semi-retired to me,” Bayless insisted.
It’s unclear just what Bayless is watching. Durant scored 29 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists in the game in question. He’s averaging 26.9 points this season, placing him sixth in scoring in the NBA.
Can you imagine if he wasn’t, as Bayless says, checked out? And what does that say for the other few hundred players?
Kevin Durant Fires Back At Skip Bayless
Suns power forward Kevin Durant decided to throw some shade at Skip Bayless over his remarks. And the response was brutal.
This is especially true when you consider Skip went from co-host of First Take to co-host of Undisputed and has now been relegated to podcast host for The Skip Bayless Show.
Durant obliterated Bayless.
“F— it, We’re both washed, it was a great run @RealSkipBayless,” he wrote on X.
Fans were jacked for Durant’s takedown of Bayless.
“This is the best thing @KDTrey5 has ever said,” one person wrote.
Another NBA fan replied, “You just have to love KD. There will never be another.”
Others just added a slew of ‘dead’ emojis. Stop, KD, he’s dead already!

Cris Carter Said He Once Wanted To Punch Skip
It’s not just Kevin Durant; Skip Bayless has this strange effect on many people. NFL Hall of Fame receiver Cris Carter once told a story about how he almost punched the dude in the face on set.
Carter explained that things grew rather heated over a debate about Tim Tebow years ago.
“So, he got defensive and then he came back and said, ‘Well, that’s why you didn’t win a Super Bowl,’ which got nothing to do with nothing,” Carter said.
After that, the two went on a commercial break, and the former Vikings receiver took his earpiece off and confronted Bayless.
“I told him, ‘I’ll never be on your show again, and if you ever say anything like that to me again, I’ll punch you right in the […] face,” he relayed.
Carter then apparently stormed off the set, never to return.
As reported previously, Bayless was ousted as the host of Undisputed this past September after an eight-year run with Fox Sports 1.
