Travis Kelce reportedly made a surprising request to the Kansas City Chiefs, according to team President Mark Donovan. The three-time Super Bowl champ asked leadership to refrain from playing Taylor Swift’s music at Arrowhead Stadium during home games.

Tay tay might not be thrilled to hear that.

Donovan, though, says it comes from a place of selflessness on Kelce’s part. He claims Travis wanted to maintain focus on team unity. To separate his personal life from the team’s identity.

“Travis, to his credit, is all about the team, and he’s all about the guys, and he’s all about being part of the team and not being separate,” Donovan said during an appearance on FanDuel’s “Up & Adams” on Monday.

“He said that (playing her songs), ‘That separates me. When we are playing a game, when we are in the stadium, it’s about us, and I want it to be about us.’”

Travis Kelce bans Taylor Swift songs?

Now, that doesn’t mean Taylor Swift’s music is banned outright from the Chiefs stadium. We know this, since quarterback Patrick Mahomes announced that the team would be blasting The Life of a Showgirl throughout an early-season practice session.

The album includes numerous tracks that reference Swift and Kelce’s relationship.

Playing Swift’s album, to be honest, might make for some awkward moments in the practice facility and/or the stadium. Especially when they get around to a track titled “Wood,” which apparently references Travis Kelce’s um … “magic wand.”

Cosmopolitan described the song as “her raunchiest yet” and explained it is literally an “NSFW Travis Kelce sex song.”

How nice of Mr. Swift to make sure something like that doesn’t get played in the stadium, so the focus doesn’t remain on him.

Says the Chiefs don’t take advantage of the Swift-Kelce engagement

Donovan went so far as to suggest the Kansas City Chiefs do not take advantage of the attention Taylor Swift generates through her presence. The NFL certainly does, but the team – no.

“We never showed Taylor on our big boards in our stadium, never. It was respectful. We’re not taking advantage of this relationship,” he said.

“I joked with him early on in the first year (of their relationship), we never played a Taylor Swift song in the stadium when she is in the building,” Donovan added.

Who knew the Chiefs fans had it better? While they don’t have to hear Swift’s music or see her on the big screen, the rest of us watching at home have to see her mug on the screen every five minutes.
