Overexposure tends to quickly turn admiration into annoyance, and unfortunately, Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and three-time Super Bowl champion, is becoming a prime example of this phenomenon.

As we’ve referenced on these pages already, the NFL and sports media are over the moon about the Chiefs-Eagles matchup, as it gives them an opportunity to “oversaturate your TV screens with the Kelce brothers.”

From podcasts to late-night talk shows, Travis, with his Uncle Rico haircut, and Jason, with his Yukon Cornelius beard, have been on our television or phone/laptop screens way too much.

And it’s not about to subside before the big game on February 9th.

With that in mind, we give you a teaser for Wednesday’s episode of Amazon Prime Video’s Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?

Big T is the host, of course.

Travis Kelce Gets A Swiftie Themed Question

While his achievements are undeniable, the constant presence of Travis Kelce and his brother in our daily media consumption has started to wear thin. Throw in pop star Taylor Swift as the aforementioned’s girlfriend, and it is an absolute non-stop toe-curling cringefest.

As evidenced by the teaser trailer of Kelce presenting a clue about friendship bracelets, a reference to Tay’s concert-goers and how they exchange them at shows, for a promo of the next Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?

“Nicole has 98 beads to make six friendship bracelets,” Kelce reads, eliciting laughter from the audience.

“What’s so funny, guys?” he responded, feigning ignorance of the friendship bracelet trend attached to his girlfriend.

Tee-hee. Get it? Tee-hee.

It’ll Probably Get Worse Before It Gets Better

Honestly, until the refs stop dragging Kansas City across the finish line the Chiefs stop winning games, you’re never going to see a slowdown in Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce exposure.

Sad knockoff game shows won’t even be a safe space. The NFL and everyone in their circle are going to milk as much money out of the manufactured storyline as they possibly can.

Honestly, though, if you’re the type of person unsure of whether or not you’re smarter than Kelce or any other celebrity, then you’re also probably the type of person who wags their tail in delight whenever they see Taylor and Travis.

The problem isn’t solely that Kelce is everywhere—from commercials to game shows, from sports news to entertainment segments. It’s the way his personal life, particularly his relationship with Taylor Swift, intertwines with his professional endeavors, creating a narrative that’s hard to escape.

Fans of both Kelce and Swift might find this delightful, but for the general public, it’s becoming a bit much.

Prepare to be subjected to Kelce and Swift non-stop right up until the Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on February 9th.
