Travis Kelce is confused. He doesn’t understand certain things, one of them being, judging by that haircut, how to work the Flowbee.

But he’s also confused about another thing. For instance, why is everybody running with the claim that NFL referees are helping his Kansas City Chiefs at every turn?

Yes, he’s legitimately befuddled as to why there is this narrative. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles have probably already had three personal foul calls against them just during Media Day.

Kelce posed the question to reporters.

“Why are you guys leaning into this whole ref thing?” he asked, seeming genuinely befuddled.

Travis Kelce Doesn’t Get The Ref Theory

Yeah, it’s a complete mystery, isn’t it, Trav? A vast majority of the games won by the Chiefs this season were by one score or less, with teams suspiciously getting calls against them in key situations.

Then the playoffs came around, and the Houston Texans got hit with personal fouls when they never touched quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and the Buffalo Bills repeatedly needed 11 yards to actually get a first down.

Complete mystery.

Suffice it to say, Kelce got ripped for the comments on social media.

“Because the NFL is rigged and we literally have the most advanced technology in the history of the world that proves it EVERY. F******. WEEKEND,” one fan replied.

“Probably because anyone can see how obvious the calls are in favor of the Chiefs,” another shot back.

Others posted a litany of video proof of bad calls and/or charts and statistics showing the bias.

How Dare You Question!

You know who else, besides Travis Kelce, thinks the whole refs/Chiefs thing is balderdash? The refs.

The union of NFL referees weighed in on the controversy and said any assertion that they lean favorably towards the defending Super Bowl champs is “insulting.”

“Officiating crews do not work the same team more than twice each regular season,” they said in a statement. “It is insulting and preposterous to hear conspiracy theories that somehow 17 officiating crews consisting of 138 officials are colluding to assist one team.”

Also dismissing the conspiracy theories is NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

“I think the men and women that officiate in the NFL are outstanding. They have the highest possible standards,” Goodell said, suggesting that he hasn’t watched the games.

“It’s a ridiculous theory for anyone who might take it seriously.”

Weird how it’s only Chiefs players, the refs, and the Commissioner who are thoroughly convinced that what we’re all seeing as fans is not what is actually happening.
