Pilar Sanders, mother of the Cleveland Browns‘ newest starting quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, just can’t seem to contain her thoughts about her son’s coaches.
Shedeur had a breakout performance this past weekend against the woeful Tennessee Titans. Sanders completed 23 of 42 passes for 364 yards and three touchdowns, with just one interception. He added a rushing touchdown to boot.
Controversy ruled the day, however, when head coach Kevin Stefanski took his starting quarterback off the field for a potential game-tying two-point conversion that went horribly wrong. The Browns dropped the contest, 31-29.
Considering they were facing the worst team in the NFL, not capitalizing on Shedeur’s performance and securing the win is a downright Greek tragedy.
Pilar was none too pleased. And she made her thoughts known, as she all too often does.
Let Shedeur Sanders cook
Pilar Sanders sparked controversy by posting and quickly deleting videos in which she ranted at the Browns’ coaches for using the wildcat formation instead of letting her son, Shedeur, “cook.”
“You know, this f***ing wildcat, is bulls***,” she said in a since deleted video.
In another video, after Shedeur had thrown a touchdown pass, she said, “Whew. See what happens when you don’t do the wildcat?”
She captioned one of the posts, “LET SHEDEUR COOK!!!!!”
Oddly enough, she never offered her thoughts on the dreadful two-point conversion. One can only imagine what would have shown up on social media if she unloaded after that play.
Not only was Shedeur not allowed to “cook,” he wasn’t even on the field.
The #Browns just had a really ugly attempt at a 2-pt conversion and the tie.

Mom keeps venting
It’s not the first time Pilar Sanders has openly criticized Shedeur’s coaches, which is never a good thing. He doesn’t need the distractions. It’s one thing to play a decent game against the Titans. What gripes will she have when the Browns play actual NFL teams?
Pilar strongly defended her son by calling out the coaching staff on social media in the middle of his very first NFL appearance earlier this season. She was super-mad that Shedeur, who spent the majority of the time as the fourth-string quarterback, didn’t get any reps with the first team.
“Do your thang! Work with what you’ve got!” she wrote on Instagram. “NFL DEBUT! Never any first round reps – Never heard of 😂🤣 this is wild to say the least.”
Sanders then proceeded to complete just 4 of 16 passes for 47 yards and an interception. He also managed to fumble the ball.
Previously, Pilar went borderline apoplectic when former New York Jets head coach and foot aficionado, Rex Ryan, dared to criticize Shedeur for the kind of nonsense that led to him dropping precipitously in the draft. Ryan suggested that Sanders was talking too much and not putting in the work to become a starter.
Talking too much must be a family trait. Because Pilar couldn’t help but fire back by calling Ryan “evil.”
“To young Athletes and Football fans… This is what impotent, cancerous, envious energy looks like,” she wrote on social media. “This type of Evil goes waaay back – you can cut it with a knife – embedded in blood and bones, seeping through all of the rotting worm holes it has.”
Shedeur might want to pull her aside and stop causing so much drama. There isn’t a person alive who doesn’t agree with Ryan that Sanders – and now his mother – talk too much.
