With laps winding down after the race was converted to a timed finish by officials, Kofoid had reeled in his Venturini Motorsports teammate Jesse Love.

As the two came off turn four and were jetting down the straightaway, the lapped car of Bryce Haugeberg appears to come to a complete stop right before the flag stand. Kofoid peeked to the outside of Love, and then violently collided with Haugeberg.

Haugeberg’s car is sent flying through the air and spinning on its doors. Kofoid’s vehicle entire front end is demolished as it spins to a stop in front of of Haugeberg’s car.

Another angle at the violent wreck, which you can see below, shows Haugeberg’s car bounce of the outside wall and come nearly to a stop when Kofoid ran into his rear end and sent him flying into the air.

Kofoid’s car then smashes into the outside wall and then bounces back into the center of the track.

The red flag was immediately flown following the collision and the race would be subsequently ended with Jesse Love claiming the victory.

In his victory lane interview, Jesse Love revealed that neither he nor Kofoid saw Haugeberg’s vehicle come to a stop in front of him.

Love says, “First off, all glory to God. And second of all, really happy and grateful that Buddy is all right. That was pretty wicked. I don’t think any of us saw the lapped car until we were there.”

“Thank God he’s all right,” he reiterated. “And other than that we had a phenomenal Toyota Camry today.”

The ARCA Menards Series did announce that both Kofoid and Haugeberg “walked away from this massive crash to end the Atlas 100 at the Springfield Mile.”

“I’ll probably be sore over the next few days,” Kofoid said following the conclusion of the race. “Even when I was two [car-lengths] behind Jesse, I couldn’t see him. Having windshields makes [seeing] kind of tough, and the glare makes it 10 times worse. I’m glad [Haugeberg] is alright, and I can only assume what happened [with him], but it’s just unfortunate.”

With the race ending due to the crash and the white flag not being waved by ARCA officials, Kofoid would finish in second place. Haugeberg finished three laps down in 10th.
