On the November 30th episode of the podcast, Peterson shared his thoughts on the struggling Arizona Cardinals who are 4-8 and third in the NFC West.

Peterson was asked about whether the team’s coach, Kliff Kingsbury, was being the scapegoat for the team’s struggles, he answered, “It ain’t no maybe. He will. He will be. He will be and the crazy thing about it is the guy who hired him will still have a job.”

When the discussion shifted to Murray’s comments about Kingsbury, Peterson interjected saying, “Kyler Murray don’t care about nobody, but Kyler Murray. That’s just a matter of the fact.”

Peterson would also address Murray’s contract saying, “This is the same guy that y’all put in his contract that you’ve got to study four hours a week.”

He added, “But the system messed up? But they requiring you to study for four hours, but the system messed up? And on top of that if you look at it, if you look at it since Kyler’s been there all the stats are the same. Records all that is the same. It’s consistent.”

Murray would fire back at Peterson writing on Twitter, “This isn’t true…you on some weird shit Peterson you got my number, if you really felt like this as a ‘big bro’ or ‘mentor’ you supposed to call me and tell me, not drag me so your podcast can grow…”

Peterson has since addressed his comments about Kyler while speaking to the media on Thursday.

He stated, “First of all, I don’t have any beef with Kyler Murray because they was like, ‘Oh, Patrick blatantly disrespected Kyler.’ I didn’t do that.”

Peterson clarified, “What I meant by my comment was when you’re franchise quarterback you have to carry yourself a certain way. So if you’re having bad body language, pouting, moping on the sideline – what type of energy do you think that feeds off your teammates? That’s what I meant about Kyler cares about himself because he’s not putting a team first.”

“When you make a bad throw, you’re coming off to the sideline, you dropping your shoulders, how do you think the defense feel? If our starting quarterback don’t have any energy, no fire to win this game then how can we. That’s what I meant about Kyler caring about Kyler. I didn’t mean that no disrespect any fashion or form,” he elaborated.

“And I might not be his mentor, but these are the things, tips that I think that can help him be a better football player in the long run. It is what it is at the end of the day,” he asserted.

Peterson went on to reveal that he did reach out privately to Murray saying, “I did get his number from an ex-teammate. I texted him. He didn’t reply to the text. I don’t know if that’s his number or whatever the case may be, but I do look forward to talking to him because I see a ton of talent in him.”

He continued, “And those mannerisms are alarming and I’m just saying something that most people may be afraid to tell him. It’s no secret. Everybody sees it. You see it every time they’re on television. You see Kyler Murray pouting, cursing out the head coach, calling out the offensive scheme. I didn’t say that. He did.”

Petersen then reiterated and concluded, “I do look forward to talking to him and we’ll just leave it at that.”

YouTuber Ryan Kinel of Sports Wars reacted to Peterson and Murray’s comments and called out Murray for his hypocrisy saying, “There’s some tension and this is after Kyler Murray called out some of the play calling from his coach while he was there on the podium on live TV so he has no problem throwing some people under the bus.”

Kinel added, “Well, now it seems he’s getting offended when Patrick Peterson is calling him out.”
