After left-wing backlash regarding their policy towards ‘transgender’ athletes, World Aquatics, the governing international body for swimming competitions, sidestepped their decision to ban biological men from competing against women in the women’s division by now starting a “open category” where anyone regardless of sex can compete.

That’s right folks, the bare naked truth in this concession to the transgender community is that men can defeat women and women can no longer complain about it.

This week, the president of World Aquatics, Husain Al-Musallam, said in order to cushion the news that this issue was a “very complex topic” and that “Our sport must be open to everybody.” Which is funny, because it had always been open to everybody of every gender, all two of them.

“I am delighted to tell you today that we are now making plans for the first trial of an open category, and we hope to be able to confirm all the details soon,” said Al-Musallam during the recent World Aquatics Congress which met on Tuesday in Japan.

“It was very important that we protected fair competition for our female athletes,” he continued. “But you have heard me say many times there should be no discrimination. Nobody should be excluded from our competitions.”

The World Aquatic decision follows a similar one made by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the international governing body for competitive cycling, which has recently banned male-born athletes who began taking puberty blockers to appear more feminine from competing in women’s categories.

Critics say this new rule is seen as almost equivalent to an outright ban on trans athletes, given the rarity of individuals who undergo those permanent processes before puberty.
