Bubba Wallace drives cars, promotes fictitious hate crimes, and enjoys angering his haters. But recently he was all out of races and hate crimes, so he opted to rile up his haters and bring on the outrage once again by calling his critics “DARFS.”
Wallace is set to compete in the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway, starting in the last position of the NASCAR Playoffs Round of 12.
Driver 23 exceeded expectations throughout the year and earned his first playoff appearance, securing his position in this round with a 14th-place finish at Bristol. Despite knowing well that there was a challenging journey ahead to reach the Round of 8, he remained undeterred by his skeptics.
“We keep outkicking the goal posts and they keep moving it,” Wallace remarked over the weekend. “That’s fine. We’ll make it work. You can’t help DARFs.”
For those of you who were as confused, DARF isn’t a word to toss to your friends or loved ones anytime soon. “DARF,” as it turns out, stands for “Dumba** race fan,” which has been part of Wallace’s insult-arsenal for several seasons now.
Wallace will start in the lead position at Texas, potentially aiding him in securing a stage point. He’s currently 14 points behind his teammate, Tyler Reddick, who recently won in Kansas.

Other drivers close to the cutoff include Ross Chastain, Brad Keselowski, and Ryan Blaney.
“Was I expecting it? I don’t know,” he added in reference to qualifying. “Qualifying, you know, I tend to try too hard and overthink things. And that’s my problem with life, I need to stop doing it, I just need to go out and do. So that was a good surprise.”
