The incident is being investigated as an intentional act instead of as an accident. Terrell Owens got into an argument with an unidentified individual during a pickup basketball game. Once the game ended, the unknown male drove a car toward Owens and clipped him.

The six-time Pro Bowler was involved in another incident in November 2022. In an altercation that was caught on video, Owens was seen punching a man in a CVS parking lot. Owens told The Associated Press he acted in self-defense after the man “made offensive gestures and threatening statements” toward him and a fan.

Terrell Owens was also certainly no stranger to controversy during his playing days, although (as far as we know) no one ever tried to hit him with a car back then.

But he did have his run-ins, with the media, coaches, and fellow players – especially his quarterbacks. At times, the mercurial wide receiver would seem like a passer’s best friend. But over time, he would eventually become their worst enemy. His strange public fallouts with both Donovan McNabb and Tony Romo led to some bizarre and over-the-top moments during his career.

Terrell Owens was a third-round pick in the 1996 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He went on to play 15 seasons for multiple teams – most notably the Eagles, Cowboys, and ‘Niners. He notched over 16,000 yards and 153 touchdowns during his career, and both numbers currently have him ranked third in league history in those categories. He retired from the NFL in 2012 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
