Former Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski is tired of all the Taylor Swift talk around The League and wants to just get back to the game of football

During a recent interview, former Patriot and Buccaneer Rob Gronkowski discussed the much-talked-about relationship that’s been brewing between pop icon Taylor Swift, and the Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro Travis Kelce.

But now acting as an NFL analyst, Gronk has started to get his fill of the Taylor-Travis lovefest. While he admits that he’s happy for his fellow tight end, the NFL has been featuring the pop star a little too much on camera during broadcasts.

Appearing recently on the Up and Adams show, the four-time Super Bowl Champion told host Kay Adams that it does add to the luster of games that a star of her magnitude in attendance (and dating one of The League’s best players), it’s been overdone.

“It’s just a little too much,” Rob Gronkowski said. “Yes, you can show her and maybe have her perform a song now that they’re hyping her up every single week, but we want more football. It’s fine to show here, but not every single play.”

Swift, who is in the midst of her massively successful ‘Eras’ tour, has added more dates and will continue performing well into 2024. But that doesn’t really matter much to Rob Gronkowski. He thinks that while Taylor Swift is an added bonus to any NFL broadcast… she should not overshadow the game itself.

The backlash even forced the NFL to release a statement regarding some of the things that concern Rob Gronkowski and many fans:

“The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce news has been a pop cultural moment we’ve leaned into in real-time, as it’s an intersection of sport and entertainment, and we’ve seen an incredible amount of positivity around the sport.”
