Pinion was recently named as the Falcons’ nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award last week – the most prestigious award in the NFL, as they like to say.

“It’s a huge honor, and I’m very humbled to be selected. Something that you don’t take lightly,” he told Fox News.

For every punt Pinion knocks inside the opposing 20-yard line, he will donate $1,000 to the “Punts for Purpose” charity. According to the team, that means as of week 13 he is donating $20,000. (He is really good at what he does!)

Bradley Pinion Thanks God For Allowing Him To Help Children

Falcons punter Bradley Pinion announced that he would wear custom-made cleats advocating the “Punts for Purpose” cause during the NFL’s annual “My Cause My Cleats” campaign.

His faith was readily apparent in announcing the news.

“Growing up, you hope and wish life turns out this way (to reach the NFL),” Pinion said. “I’m a big man of faith, so God took over and it’s worked out for me.”

In his interview with Fox, Pinion’s religious dedication was at the forefront again.

“I firmly believe that God put me in this position to help people and to use this platform to share His light and to share His word,” he told the outlet.

Donations from the charity, according to a press release, are used toward funding 500 child survival centers. Those centers help moms and babies in poverty receive proper prenatal care, education, nutritious food, clean water, access to medical care, a birth assistant during childbirth, and a community of spiritual and emotional support.

The Atlanta Falcons posted a video of Pinion learning that he had been nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.

Get ready – It’s a tear-jerker.

“There’s no one that deserves it more,” said Ashleigh Alcorn of Community International. “And on behalf of these moms and babies whose lives you’re saving – they say a giant congratulations.”

The announcement notes that Pinion helped get a dozen other punters to contribute to the cause.

Pinion is a talented and dedicated NFL punter who has made significant contributions both on and off the field. He continues to make a positive impact in the community through his charitable work.

He was part of the 2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl-winning team.
