ESPN’s primary provocateur Stephen A. Smith says that a Dallas Cowboys fan once stepped to him for talking trash about America’s Team

ESPN First Take commentator Stephen A. Smith has never been a favorite of Cowboys Nation, and vice versa. The precocious and pugnacious pundit has made it known over the years of his disdain for Dallas. But according to a recent story that he told to USA Today, he may have gotten a little more than he bargained for with his trash-talking.

Stephen A. Smith said that he was walking through the Dallas-Fort Worth airport when he was accosted by an angry fan who was looking for vengeance. An elderly woman had sought him out and punched him for his constant mocking of her beloved ‘Boys.

Needless to say, Smith took it in good fun and part of the game. He said he wasn’t offended by it all.

“I had an old Black lady in her 70s come up and punch me in the arm like I was Felix Unger from the Odd Couple,” Smith said. “(She said), you leave my Dallas Cowboys alone. It was adorable; what are you going to say?”

And it doesn’t just stop with your TV screen. In the same article, Stephen A. Smith said that he hopes to do a show live from the parking lot of the Cowboys’ home field AT&T Stadium, where he can antagonize the local fans in person.
