If you’re a lawmaker and plan to tangle with Riley Gaines in her effort to defend women’s sports, ya better come prepared
Pennsylvania congresswoman Summer Lee went into a hearing of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Health armed with the intellectual heft of a wooden gun.
You know, like the one Michael Keaton gives to Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in The Other Guys?
Lee, you see, was offended by Gaines and other witnesses on the panel for their testimony in opposition to biological males competing in female sports.
As such, she accused those in attendance of “transphobic bigotry.”
In response, Gaines absolutely trucked Lee into oblivion, noting that everybody can play sports but not everybody gets to compete in a division based on what they feel like being that day.
“There’s a place for everybody to play sports in this country,” Gaines, a former NCAA star swimmer at Kentucky said. “But unsafe, unfair and discriminatory practices must stop.”
“Inclusion cannot be prioritized over safety and fairness,” she continued. “And ranking member Lee, if my testimony makes me ‘transphobic,’ then I believe your opening monologue makes you a misogynist.”
Summer Lee Gets Wrecked After Calling Riley Gaines Transphobic
Yikes. Did anybody get the license plate of the vehicle that just ran over Representative Lee?
Perhaps the best part of the above video is watching the congresswoman look down, staring intently, contemplating her next move. You can almost see the little hamster running around in the wheel inside her head.
But it takes some time for that little hamster to get going. In fact, it takes just about 30 full seconds before Lee interjects in the testimony of another woman on the panel and tries to get Gaines’ comments stricken from the record.
“Uh, madame chair, excuse me, I move to have the gentlewoman’s words taken down,” Lee demanded.
If you want to save face, Ms. Lee, you might want to consider moving right out the door.
Seemingly unaware of what argument could be made, Lee enlisted the help of an aide before accusing Gaines of “engaging in personalities.”
Which is essentially an accusation that Gaines crossed a line in her criticism. It’s okay to call Riley Gaines “transphobic” but the witness, in Lee’s mind, can’t counter with a claim of misogyny.
Gaines wouldn’t have it, interjecting, “Can I just ask, how’s it fair to be called transphobic…”
Lee fumbles with her microphone trying to stop her from speaking again and the chairwoman also asks her to pause for a moment while they discuss.
After the great minds on the dais huddled up Lee said, “I move to withdraw the point of order.”
Game. Set. Match.
Gaines New Film About Transgender Athletes ‘Triggers All the Right People’
The problem here isn’t that Gaines was ‘engaging in personalities’ a term Lee, no doubt, didn’t even know until her intern helped point it out.
The problem is that Riley represents what radical transgender advocates hate in every way. She’s a woman. They hate that. She’s a female athlete. Ooh, they really hate that. And she opposes biological men competing unfairly against girls. *Head explodes*.
Don’t believe me? Take a look at this witness, the president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center, arguing that women need to get over having men infiltrate their sports and “learn to lose gracefully.”
If you want to catch more of Gaines, she can be seen in the Daily Wire film Lady Ballers.
