New England owner Robert Kraft recently spent some time at the Army-Navy game with a couple of true American heroes

As one of the NFL’s most successful owners, Robert Kraft is pretty high-profile. One of the things that has come to be known about the 82-year-old billionaire is that he owns a franchise with a nickname befitting him – the Patriots. Looking for one word you could use to describe Kraft? It’s patriotic. And he showed that again this past weekend.

Kraft attended the Army/Navy game last weekend with multiple Medal of Honor recipients, including Gary Littrell and Mike Thornton, Tom Kelley, Ryan Pitts, Florent Groberg, Edward Byers, and Thomas Payne.

Robert Kraft brought in the servicepeople as his special guests to watch the Black Knights take on the Midshipmen. Army defeated Navy, 17-11, on Saturday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts – home of Kraft’s NFL franchise.

As part of his hosting duties, both Kraft and Pats coach Bill Belichick made an appearance on ESPN College Gameday.

‘We’re so honored to host this event,” Robert Kraft said of the 124th showdown between the two academies.” This is America’s Game. There’s nothing like this.”

With their win, Army improved its all-time record in the series, but Navy still holds a 62-55-7 lead overall. The two teams met for the first time on November 29, 1890.

Meanwhile, Robert Kraft and the Patriots are mired in the middle of a 3-8 season, with the owner facing the prospect of potentially having to replace his longtime coach at season’s end. Bill Belichick has been the man under the headset in New England for 24 years and has a record six Super Bowl Championships, but you almost had a feeling his appearance with Kraft at the Army-Navy festivities will be one of the last memories of his legendary tenure in Foxboro.
