It’s been a struggle against the elements in Buffalo, where the Bills are set to host the Chiefs in a chilly playoff clash on Sunday night

With snowstorms rolling in one right after the other, the Buffalo Bills asked the public for snow shovelers at Highmark Stadium ahead of their upcoming playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs. They were offering to pay $20/hour to try and get things ready to play on what promises to be a freezing-cold Sunday night.

It’s a repeat of the scenario from last week, where the team was forced to do the same thing to prepare for Wild Card Weekend. Many Buffalo locals got involved and cleared out areas that had snow stacked nearly waist-deep.

Fans 18 and older are being asked to arrive at the stadium on Friday ready to work throughout the afternoon and evening.

From Tuesday through Thursday, Buffalo was under a lake-effect snow warning. That storm dumped snow on top of what was the remnants of the original snowfall. That only compounded matters, as the Bills have struggled to make sure none of their postseason games are forced to be re-scheduled.

A Winter Blast

Wednesday’s Buffalo Sabres game against the Chicago Blackhawks was postponed to Thursday. Orchard Park, New York – where the Bills play – got a reported 12 inches over the last three days.

After it’s all cleared out, the game will take place under frigid conditions. That shouldn’t phase either team, who both played in arctic-like conditions in the first round. The Chiefs (11-6 in the regular season, AFC West Champions) visit the Bills (11-6, AFC East Champions), with a gametime forecast of cloudy skies and temperatures between 21 to 27 degrees, with no precipitation expected.
