In a recent interview, former USWNT star Megan Rapinoe shared her thoughts on fans who celebrated her career-ending Achilles injury.

Rapinoe, the anti-American woke star of the American women’s soccer team, was disgusted with fan reaction to her injury, expressing her thoughts to podcaster Pablo Torre.

“We want these perfect stories and I’m a controversial figure, and having people low-key celebrate it — but then also be so disingenuous about it, that that part is kinda funny too,” Rapinoe said. “I’m like, wow you guys are in a special place in hell that you’re celebrating this.”

Megan Rapinoe Mocks Christians Yet Again

While it’s never a good idea to celebrate the injury of an athlete, Megan Rapinoe brings these reactions on herself. Even the comment about a “special place in hell” is a dig at Christian soccer fans.

How do we know this? Because she made it about God and Christianity when the injury actually took place.

Rapinoe suffered the career-ending Achilles injury during the 2023 NWSL Championship game between her team, OL Reign, and Gotham FC. Rapinoe’s Reign lost the championship game, effectively ending her competitive playing career.

“I’m not a religious person or anything and if there was a God, like, this is proof that there isn’t,” she said following the game. “This is fucked up. It’s just fucked up. Six minutes in and I eat my Achilles.”

If anything, it’s proof that God has a sense of humor.

After crying over fans celebrating her injury, Rapinoe just couldn’t control herself, taking yet another shot at the devoutly religious.

“Somebody needs to check on the Christians, they’re not okay,” she whispered into the mic.

This is why you get trashed by fans, Megan.

Frankly, just cry more. If we’re all going to a special place in hell, we might as well enjoy the ride.
