The Indianapolis Colts likely hoped to get a larger return on their investment after making Anthony Richardson the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Yet, after suffering multiple injuries, the Colts’ franchise quarterback was limited to just four games in his rookie season.

Richardson is expected to resume his starting role once he’s back to 100% after recovering from shoulder surgery, but until then, the 21-year-old is using his free time wisely. Which, apparently, includes helping stranded drivers.

According to WRTV Indianapolis, Richardson recently came to the rescue of a local couple that found themselves stranded on the side of I-65 after their car suffered a flat tire.

The couple who was rescued, Parker Suddeth and his girlfriend, told their story to WRTV, relaying they were desperately trying to flag people down for “like twenty minutes,” but “no one wanted to pull over and help.”

That’s when an unknown vehicle pulled up, and an unknown man got out to approach Suddeth. This man offered to drive the stranded couple to a local auto parts store and even gave him $200 to purchase what he needed to change a flat tire. At no point did this man identify himself as Anthony Richardson, the starting quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts, but finally Suddeth had to ask who he was, and what he did for a living.

“I asked him what he did for a living and he said ‘football’ and I asked him who he played for and he said ‘the Colts’ and I was just like ‘Oh wow.”

“Me and my girlfriend were just very emotional that he stopped and helped us. We went out and got a bite to eat with the money he gave us and got new tires for our car. It’s just really nice that someone with even that much fame stopped and helped us.”

Later Suddeth shared his story on his Instagram with the caption, “I guess I’m a Colts fan now.” It didn’t take long for Richardson to respond:

“My guy! Weird way to make a new friend, rooting for ya my dude!” Richardson commented.

It’s safe to say that Richardson will earn a lot more fans as more people hear about his willingness to help a stranger in need.
