Former Florida, NFL Quarterback Will Appear Before Subcommittee On March 6

For all of his accomplishments on the field, Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow may be most proud of his accomplishments after his playing career ended. The outspoken Christian created the Tim Tebow Foundation toward the end of his NFL career, which has provided services to special needs children and even built a $3-million hospital in his birth country of the Phillippines.

Next week, however, Tebow may provide one of the most important services of all. Outkick reported last night that on March 6, Tebow will appear before the House Judiciary Committee Subcommittee On Crime and Federal Government Surveillance to testify on the troubling increase in the distribution of child sexual abuse materials, both in the United States and around the world.

Through his work with the Tim Tebow Foundation, Tebow has worked with the U.S. Customs and Immigration’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) organization to identify and rescue victims of child sexual abuse. His testimony will focus on this work and what he has learned about the proliferation of these materials.

Tebow Issues Statement Of Gratitude For Law Enforcement

Leading up to his testimony Tebow issued a statement through his foundation, where he expressed his thanks and appreciation for law enforcement officers and officials with whom he has worked on this troubling problem.

“At the Tim Tebow Foundation, we are so grateful to work alongside so many heroes in law enforcement from around the world and for the blessing of being a part of ‘Operation Renewed Hope.’ Reflecting on this operation, and the incredible life-changing work being done, I think of the renewed hope for so many of these boys and girls. The best definition I’ve ever heard of the biblical form of hope is to look forward with confidence, anticipation, and expectation, and I can only imagine that for so many of these children suffering through this abuse that they probably had lost all hope and had little reason to look forward.”

Operation Renewed Hope was a three-week surge in child sexual abuse investigations by HSI. According to the foundation, this investigation resulted in “311 probable identifications of previously unknown victims, including 14 positive contacts, and confirmed the rescue of several victims from active abuse.”

A History Of Outreach To The Most Vulnerable

Operation Renewed Hope and Tebow’s upcoming testimony are not his first foray into the nefarious world of child abuse. In 2022, he appeared on Fox News to discuss the issue, where he stated that, “40.3 million people right now estimated are trapped in this horrible evil of human trafficking, and so many more are actually being exploited online and that number’s going up every single day.”

He called child trafficking “one of the greatest evils in the world today,” and called for an army to join him to help fight it.

He has also used his influence on his X account (then Twitter) — where he has 4.4 million followers — to urge people to defend the weak and fight to help people who are hurting.

Tebow has not yet commented on his X account about his upcoming appearance in the House of Representatives, but he is still an active social media user, so we can expect more from him over the weekend or next week when his testimony takes place.

Regardless of what happens on March 6, it is clear that Tebow is committed to this issue and is doing everything in his power to help curb the scourge of child abuse.
