WNBA: Indiana Fever - Caitlin Clark introduction
Indianapolis Star-USA TODAY NETW

She’s currently the biggest name on the planet, let alone basketball, or even women’s basketball.

The Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark is all the rage, so you’d expect a heck of a lot of people to want merch.

That does currently appear to be the case. There’s only one problem: You are clean out of luck.

Caitlin Clark Jerseys MIA

Right about now you’re asking yourself how such a thing could be possible. Surely every athletic company in the world is dying to crank out as many Caitlin Clark jerseys as humanly possible.

Not so. As a matter of fact, fans will have to wait until the season is practically over to get their hands on such rare threads.

Nike is the sponsor and maker of the Indiana Fever’s jerseys. They somehow managed to underestimate the popularity of them so much, they created a small initial batch that is long gone.

Incredibly, the next batch – exclusively from Fanatics – isn’t expected until August. WNBA fans know that the season ends in mid-September.

Yes, it somehow gets worse, as the New York Post relates: “Fanatics has the next batch of Nike’s jerseys for the Indiana Fever star on pre-order now, with a disclaimer they will not be shipping until August — and they don’t ship from Dick’s Sporting Goods’ until October.

October! The longest the season could theoretically go is October 20, for crying out loud.

Unfortunately, someone will probably lose their job over such an enormous blunder.

Caitlin Clark’s Popularity

Clark is enormously popular, and was the “It Girl” for the better part of the last two years. Her star soared astronomically this last NCAA season, which saw her breaking records left and right. Alas, while she fell short of winning a national championship, she won the popularity contest.

It’s rumored that Nike has an eight-figure sponsorship deal in store for her. That should make up for the laughably small salary she will earn from the Indiana Fever.

While playing for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Clark amassed an incredible 3,951 points. She snagged 990 rebounds, dished out 1,144 assists, and made a whopping 548 3-pointers.
