NFL: Super Bowl LVIII-San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs

Could it be possible? A three-peat? A Chiefs-peat? Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes certainly thinks so, and he’s publically calling his shot – the Chiefs are going to be Super Bowl winners again in 2025.

Just imagine another full season of Mahomes and company running roughshod over their competition in the playoffs. Endless camera shots of Taylor Swift dropping f-bombs in the luxury suite. Travis Kelce cracking bellies with head coach Andy Reid.

Can you even wait?

Mahomes made the bold prediction during a conversation with Logan Paul on the “Impaulsive” podcast.

“Next year in New Orleans, we’re going to do it again,” Mahomes declared. “Put it on the table. We’re going to do it again. I’m telling you now.”

Will The Chiefs Be Super Bowl Winners Again?

This isn’t the first time Mahomes has predicted the Chiefs will end up being Super Bowl winners for the third straight time this coming season.

At a Super Bowl victory rally in Kansas City this past February, the KC signal caller made a similar bold prediction.

“We’re going for that three-peat. … Don’t get it twisted. We’re doing it,” he said. “Three times. … First time in NFL history, we’re doing it.”

Who Has Come Close?

Mahomes now joins Pat Riley and Babe Ruth as the most famous sports figures to call their shots.

Riley famously predicted the Los Angeles Lakers would be the first NBA team to repeat in 20 years prior to the 1987-88 NBA season. They came through, defeating the Detroit Pistons in Game 7 of the 1988 Finals.

And Ruth, pointing to the flagpole in center field during Game 3 of the 1932 World Series against the Chicago Cubs, has gone down in lore as having called his home run shot.

Mahomes is correct. No NFL team has ever won three straight Super Bowls. Only three teams have ever gone to three straight, none of them winning each time.

The Dolphins were there from 1972-1974, losing Super Bowl VI to Dallas before winning back-to-back against the Redskins (Commanders) and Vikings respectively.

The Buffalo Bills, of course, went to four straight Super Bowls in the ’90s and lost all four. The New England Patriots went to three straight (2017-2019) winning two out of three, losing Super Bowl LII to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mahomes and the Chiefs could become the fourth to appear in three straight title games. But will they be the first to win all three Super Bowls in a row?
